    This is sad. And it shows why it's in the interests of municipalities and states to keep sending folks to prison for stupid stuff.

    I think it's a great way to create jobs myself. The only problem I see is in the future when one half of the population is being employed to keep the other half in prison.

    "I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free" (for now anyway).

    Big deal. So private prisons make a profit.

    State and federal prisons were overcrowded and private industry responded to a need. I expect them to make a profit.

    That being said, their officers, for the most part, are drastically underpaid, work too many hours, and are poorly trained. In addition to that, their administration doesn't back the officers that actually do their jobs, hanging them out to dry when rules are enforced.

    I don't like private prisons even a little bit, but they didn't create the market.

    Common sense on this issue. Of course you have no need to demonize that which you disagree with and create a problem where none exists on this issue.

    Oh, they use private prisons in Indianapolis because they cannot afford to expand the local jail. It also removes a level of liability and it allows workers to be better paid.

    As for Hillary, I think that she could be elected even if she were in prison because the Democrats own the electoral college.
