Wherefore, let him that thinketh he standeth take heed, lest he fall. 1 Cor. 10:12.
That tells me that I'm capable of the most heinous sins, excepting only the rejection of Christ since He saved me long ago. Then the next verse shows our gracious and loving God.

Actually it said he left "an old email address". It does not say he went so far as to set up a date but he did join the site.

Read his essay from several weeks ago:

    http://rcsprouljr.com/jce/hacking-ashley-madison/

He seems to have had no recollection of submitting his info to the site. How does that happen?

If Sproul Jr. walked into a liquor store with a desire to get drunk....looked around, got convicted and left, most of us would probably give him cheers of encouragement.

He goes to a website in a moment of weakness. Doesn't subscribe to their services or pay for anything, is convicted in short order, leaves and never goes back. I think he should be cheered for repenting of his sinful desire and not going back.

I do not condone him going to the site obviously, but I'm not going to throw any stones.

He said he went August of last year - that's pretty recent.

I agree, but I still think it is admirable for him to take responsibility, and its refreshing for Ligonier not to sweep it under the rug or disregard it. I think the Dugger boy could learn a lesson or two from the Sprouls.

Amen! We all fight the devil at every turn...nobody is exempt. Sin is here but so is forgiveness.

Following your military analogy; they took him off the front line and are appropriately dealing with his wounds.

While the "christians" on the sideline gossip & pass judgement (more like old fishwives). Lets remember the higher calling..... Love is patient & love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

I'm saying that we oftentimes throw stones.

I'm glad he's subjecting himself to discipline.

I am impressed with how he is handling things. Compared to another high profile "pastor" who did have an affair RC repentance is a breath of fresh air.
