Reading a book of his that I won't mention as its a forbidden topic here. I like how he exegetes the text, dives into the background and explains everything. He surely hits the nail on the head. Anyone read him? Truly a bible scholar.

I'm sure, and it's not that I'm not interested. It's just that I have so many books on my list and a limited time to read them all.

I have read the King James Only Controversy and it was very good. I still use it as a reference every once in a while when talking to those who are convinced there is a conspiracy against the KJV and it's the ONLY Bible to use. :)

I have read a couple of White's books. He is a top notch writer. He is clear and easy to read. He is powerful in the points he makes as well. One of the best apologists out there.

A True Servant Of The Lord

The Lord has given him in remarkable ways. Dr. White has a razor-sharp mind. He is highly organized and disciplined. His memory is second to none. And the Lord has given him a good strong voice. And...he's not afraid to laugh at himself. He puts things across very clearly.

He is a fine representative of a Christian man. He is very familiar with so many areas of research. I look forward to every Dividing Line. So far he has 1,788 messages on sermonaudio.com

Some are the contents of his program and others are messages he has delivered at his assembly and others.

I must listen to at least a dozen of his messages per week. His voice is the primary English voice I hear while in China.

My James White books are all in America. Here is what I have:
    The KJV Controversy (1995)
    The God Who Justifies (2001)
    The Potter's Freedom (2007)
Is The Mormon My Brother (1997)
Letters To A Mormon Elder (1990)

    I don't have : The Forgotten Trinity (1998)
Grieving :Your Path Back To Peace (1997)

That last book is his biggest seller. He was a hospital chaplain for 2 and a half years. One of the last messages I listened to was a talk he gave back in 1993 regarding death and grieving. Needless to say it was moving.

James is a warrior for the Kingdom of God. He needs our prayers. He has a lot of energy but he can be put aside like any of us. Sometimes we don't appreciate people until they're gone. Let's appreciate him while he's among us.

I am a huge fan of James White. He knows his stuff. I read The Forgotten Trinity and found it a wonderful resource when dealing with a modalist. I also have his book where he debates Calvinism with Hunt and I find that a good resource for dealing with my noncal friends and family.

Dr. White is one of the greatest apologists AND debaters of our time. However, he is often accused of crossing the between conviction and arrogance. His book "The Potter's Freedom" is amazing.

I don't think he's arrogant. I just think he has what they call a "snarky" sense of humor that comes across that way sometimes.

How has it work with the KJVO on this board? Not many but there are a few.

    Hello RT,

The accusation is mostly from those whose position gets attacked. He toasts the error so there are some very unhappy campers. When you kill another persons god....he will fight you. If it is Molech, free will, universal atonement, when these positions get exposed the people strike out at the messenger rather than the message.

Years ago...while on air with the bible answer man, Hank Hanegraaff....DR. White listened to him explain his philosophy of libertarian free will....so DR.White basically says...That is very interesting philosophy Hank...but can we return to the scriptures now???? they went to commercial break and hank asked Dr.White to leave:laugh: I listened to that program and it was the correct question to ask......he has not been asked back on the show.

Dr. White takes a stand where scripture does....with that comes attacks from the others...

I know I've used his book to explain a few passages here in the past but I've mostly used it on a few women's boards I've been on. :)

The KJVO that I have met so rarely will defend their views against someone as scholarly as White. They know they cant win, but they have their traditions and personal convictions and that seems to trump reason & logic. To persuade them will take the convicting power of the Holy Spirit.
