How does God speak to you?

Does He give a "word of knowledge" as an impulse to direct your path?

Does He speak to you only through the Scriptures and in no other manner?

Does He guide only through circumstantial or experiential ways and means?

How does God speak to you?

Have you heard the voice of God?

To quote Justin Peters " if you want to hear from God, read your Bible, if you want to hear him audibly, read your Bible out loud"

I believe that since the canon is closed that direct Revelation from God has ceased. Everything we need to know for faith and practice is in the Bible.

When I am studying the Bible (using my concordance, taking notes as I read, studying topically and otherwise) God speaks to me best when I am writing in my notebook.

It's completely different when I am just reading (like I do at night before I go to sleep). He does speak to me during a simple reading, but I hear more from study.

God has also spoken "loud and clear" to me from the actions of other people (both negative and positive) and from nature - many times. Once, I was driving to church and I was mad as hops about something that must not have been too important because I don't remember what it was. I just remember being all fired mad. As I was driving, I saw a flock of birds migrating in that all too familiar V-formation. God spoke to me and said, "I take care of those birds' basic needs and get them where they need to go. I've got this situation you are stewing about under control".

All I could do was thank him for that word and cry.

God has spoken to me many times when singing hymns and spiritual songs either in church or in the privacy of my home. Occasionally, I "pray" the hymns and "sing" the scriptures. I always come away with something from the Lord that either did not know or had not paid attention to or He convicted me of.

God can and does speak through any vehicle he chooses. We have to be alert to his voice.

Agree. There have been times, though, when I believe that Our Lord has given me an unsettled sense or feeling of confirmation when making certain decisions. Proverbs 3:6.

Yes, with one caveat, that in extreme and extraordinary circumstances, and in those parts of the world where the Scriptures are not, extraordinary revelations are more more to be expected.

But, as was said to the rich in hell when he asked for an extraordinary event to warn his brothers, "They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them."

In multiple ways. Through scripture, through others, through direction of my thoughts - in a way that is obvious it is not me, through knowledge suddenly given that I have no way of knowing otherwise, etc.

Yes, but it is more than just an "impulse." It is knowledge.

Only? No. Most often through scripture as I meditate on it through my day.

    No.

Are you asking about the much-obsessed over "audible voice?" No, I have not knowingly heard God in that way. I would be inclined not to believe it.
