It is because we make it far, far too easy for people to obtain weapons.

CTB - was the weapon purchased legally?

Tell me how many children die each year from gun related deaths? Now, tell me how many children die each year from auto related deaths? Do you also believe we make it too easy to obtain a car?

Hearing stories like this doesn't automatically make me think that weapons, or even cars are the problem, it's more to do with the mentality of the people involved that should be questioned.

Banning guns or even banning automobiles isn't the answer. As long as we have people that show a blatant disregard for human life, there will always continue to be needless deaths, taking away the instruments people use won't change that.

    *rolls eyes*

"It is because we make it far, far too easy for people to obtain automobiles." would make just as much sense.

People can kill another person with literally anything, so what are we going to do? Ban everything?

Surely it would make more sense in trying to deal with the actual people behind the crimes and try to figure out why the incident happened in the first place.

It does not matter. It is a DNC talking-point.

This is such a sad and tragic situation. Another young life ended by something that never should have happened. There is just so much road rage going on. I see it every day driving to and from work. Not to this extreme though but there are many angry people are our roads. I will pray for this little girl's family.

You're right, of course. If CTB had responded, I suspect he would have answered with "what does it matter?" (H. Clinton reference, BTW)

To which I would have responded, because he doesn't know, he jumped the gun in making his comment. If the weapon was obtained illegally, then "far too easy to obtain guns" is an invalid response. If it was obtained legally, then we would have to discuss his over-generalization about "making it too easy" (i.e., discuss New Mexico's gun regulations).

But you're right. To actually have a discussion, doesn't fit the DNC narrative of "no guns."

Let's not turn this into a gun blaming and shaming thread. It's because people are wicked in heart. Road rage is terrible. I get scared for my husband because he's out everyday and people drive like they're nuts and can get so angry. It can make it hard for people to control themselves. Very tragic this little girl had to pay for people's stupidity.

Crabby, this has been the case since Cain killed Abel!
You planning on banning any & everything that has ever been used to kill someone???
I sure do wish you liberals would actually THINK before spouting off!!

There was recently a man who killed his whole family by driving his car into a lake . Cars are far too easy to attain!

Like others have said, I highly doubt the gun was purchased legally. Even if there were stricter gun control laws, the same people would be getting the same guns ILLEGALLY. The problem then would be that the good people would not be able to protect themselves. I'm beginning to think that's the agenda...

While you're correct about the true cause, re-read the opening post. This thread isn't turning into a gun blaming and shaming thread; it was started that way.

They are using knives in Israel, suction in abortion clinics - guns seem an easier way to go to me. Then again, maybe the angers is so easily brought to the surface by the economic state of the country - then again the shooter may be crazy, on drugs or prescribed meds. Maybe more information will shed some light.

I'm not upset about the weapon, but moreso upset about the person that pulled the trigger. There is no reason for a four year old child to die. Accidents happen, but we need to take into account that we need to be more careful with the weapons we do have. A child gave her life for someone else's mistake.

It is because some people are just too hot-headed to shoot a gun without even thinking about the circumstances.

I would be praying for this little girl. May she rest in peace now.
