After meeting with the terrorist leader of Sudan, Ahmed AKA "clock boy" is moving to Qatar to finish his schooling. Does anyone else find this move interesting? He is now going to be living in a region that grows terrorists like weeds after a good rain.

Maybe the local terrorists saw potential in his ballyhooed hype. Can we say that America has not seen the last of this interesting kid?

    Your opinions are welcome.

This just needs to be deleted. How about we pray for the young man's and his family's salvation as they move to this Muslim nation instead of continuing to denigrate and make it more difficult for Muslims to want to receive us or listen to us?

    You're talking about a CHILD.

How many children have strapped bombs on and killed innocents? There are two sides to the story, son, and you believe one version, while others believe another version. Your view is respected, and duly noted. God bless.

Again old man, my father is very much dead. I'm not your son. And how many children have strapped on bombs has nothing to do with THIS kid. Prejudice is an ugly thing. But it is consistent with the lack of character you always show.

There you go again .... ranting and raving and nothing you ever say reflects Jesus. Sorry about your dad. I lost mine too. As for "son" that is something I call everyone, kiddo. Shalom!

What is the relevance of Ahmed meeting with Omar al-Bashir, the president of Sudan? Out of all the people listed in the BBC article you picked this one name out and decided to use it to make your (pathetic) point.

Your innuendo would lead us to believe Ahmed met with him "one terrorist to another". You conveniently failed to mention that Ahmed's father is a Sudanese immigrant to the U.S. and a former presidential candidate in Sudan who ran opposing al-Bashir.

    Have you no shame?

I find the whole story disgusting. Disgusting that this kid, for one, CHEATED on this so-called clock invention. C'mon... look at it! He's a fraud. All it consists of is the guts of an old alarm clock stuck inside a suitcase. The cord and battery connector are still there for pity sake.

This 'kid' is 14 years old which is certainly old enough to know a good number of American's, right or wrong, are prejudiced against both his race and his religion, creates something that looks like a bomb and takes it to school. He admitted to knowing what it looked like and a teacher said he even told him to hide it so not to alarm other teachers and students, yet he did anyhow. His parents likely knew yet allowed him to take it to school. If they were worried about what could happen, they wouldn't have allowed this. I think they knew full well the potential of an uproar and may even have wanted it to happen.

Take that 'theory' away and you still have a kid who cheated on a science project get worldwide praise, acknowledgement and even offers of fully paid for college rides while other incredibly brilliant kids get what? Sure some may get scholarships but it isn't going to be based on one simple invention and they (most at least) aren't going to get there by cheating.

Pretty sure the kid didn't get the scholarship for making the clock. More likely he tests high in all subject matters. He was known for adapting other electronic items and repurposing them for other applications. He freely admitted he took apart an existing clock and used other parts to rebuild it inside the pencil box.

So you're saying he and his parents conspired to get him attention and get him arrested, is that it?

No theory that The News has reviewed cites any evidence that Ahmed, who routinely brought electronic creations to his middle school and said he wanted to impress high school teachers, planned to get handcuffed and hit the news. A statement sent out Tuesday from Irving City Hall acknowledged that a police “investigation determined the student apparently did not intend to cause alarm bringing the device to school.”

There is a lot wrong with this post. This was never a school project. The kid was just a tinkerer and brought it in to show an engineering teacher. He never claimed to invent a clock. He liked to reverse engineer electronics and mix and match parts. You also said he was told to put it away by the first teacher so he wouldn't cause alarm. He did that. He didn't disobey that request, the clock started beeping in an English class while in his book bag and the teacher found it that way. If you are going to get disgusted, the least you could do is get the story straight.

This was NOT an assigned science project. And I built one similar to that as a kid. It comes in a kit and you follow the instructions to put it together. The kid apparently just has a rather unscientific science teacher.

Umm, why in the world would they want to move to Qatar? Feels more like home to them? Qatar is an Islamic slave state, maybe Ahmed or whatever this little tool's name is can invent women's rights when he gets there. You can only hope.

Well, good riddance, his whole family is off and it is especially bad that this kid's own father took him to Sudan to see the genocidal "president" of the country. You forgot to mention Ahmed plugged the clock into a wall to freak out the teacher when it went off. It did, he finally got the reaction he wanted. I'm sure his old friends in Dallas will miss him, kids that age love drama but buh-bye!

His father grew up in Sudan. They are Muslims. Qatar offered to pay for his schooling through college.

As I said earlier his dad ran against the president of Sudan for the Presidency and lost. I suppose the genocide president wanted to meet Ahmed just like the other lumanaries in the U.S. did.

I can agree with others that it's probably better he leaves the U.S.

Haha but I wasn't wondering why the president of Sudan wanted to meet Ahmed, I was wondering why Ahmed and his father would want to meet the Sudanese president. I don't care if the father ran against him over and over again, he got a fraction of the vote in a rigged election. And if they all are homies or whatever, why not move back there instead of Qatar? He had loads of scholarship offers that he didn't merit.

CAIR's "Muslim of the Year". "Nuff said, you're right. better for all if he leaves but Qatar and civil rights are mutually exclusive.

I was on this kid's side in this story, until I saw some of his interviews. Kid's full of baloney and doesn't know what he is talking about.
