From Hunchback of Notre Dame to Miracle on 34th Street to How Green Was My Valley to The Quiet Man to the original Parent Trap - her art was a joy to watch.

One of the most beautiful actresses ever.

    I enjoy her movies immensely.

My favorite...probably The Quiet Man, with John Wayne. Hollywood doesn't have any like her anymore.

Fan of hers for years - thought her chemistry with John Wayne in those movies they made together were great.

A great and beautiful actress all-around. She had a sister that was a nun and she would tell everybody that her sister was prettier and a better actress than she herself was. Nice person who will be missed but live forever in film, R.I.P.

She was always around until now. I echo the thoughts of the posts that have been made.

Do you remember last year when Clint Eastwood and Liam Neeson wheeled her out on stage and presented her with an award? She was singing Danny Boy. She wanted more time. Her mic was cut and she threw her shoe. She was vintage Maureen. She was the characters she portrayed on screen.

    I will miss her.

Even a lot of the Irish like 'The Quiet Man' despite all its campiness :)

It is fun to visit the area where the movie was filmed and see the sites.

Edited: As soon as I hit 'enter' the LyricFM, the Irish classical radio station, played 'The Isle of Inisfree,' from the film :)

I don't know if THIS LINK will work for you. It is a 2010 interview on Irish television.

A lot of good quotes and themes are seen in that one. One of my favorites is: "Son, you've got it all wrong-- I don't 'give jobs,' I hire men! Neither one of us 'gives' the other anything." But although it's funny (to me) watching G.W. (John Wayne) chase Katherine (Maureen O'Hara) all over the place in her undies, then spank her in public, then that's what switches her to want her 'place' back, that's meant to show there's more than one way to get the same result, considering Shakespeare's Katherine the Shrew and how it was done in that one.

    Thanks and Cheers.

You all need to come over for a BB Maureen O'Hara fan club meetup and we can go out to where it was filmed. Both towns in the film were filmed in one little village called Cong.

I am a student of the dialects and accents of the English language. I was struck by how Mrs. O'Hara-Blair sounded alot like the presenter interviewing her. Usually, in her films she sounds like her American cast mates if not a bit Southern. However, in the video, she sounds like she never crossed the pond.
