Assume for the moment that the Gospels are true.

The Creator of the Universe conquered sin and death on this battlefield. Were they conquered only on this world? or were they conquered here universally for all time and eternity?

I could believe that sin and death would be conquered universally and for all time.
The earth being the "battlefield" is probably why we're restricted such as we are to this earth so as to prevent the spread of evil.

This brings up a question. Are you making this statement from the view that the Gospels are true, or are you for this thread assuming the Gospels are true to present a question?

The battle of the cross and the ongoing struggle was not just of and for the blue marble we call earth.

For example here are two statements from Scriptures to show that eternal time and matters were at stake.

Paul said, " For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

We are given the statement by Christ, " When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

The defacto presupposition, especially of those who consider themselves educated, is that the consensus of scientists is true. Many may not realize it, but the idea that the sun, moon and stars were created for a purpose, and that the purpose may be in regard to those who observe them from earth, is really a foreign idea to them.

They may think they believe the Gospels, but they really believe the textbooks and subscribe to the conclusions of Naturalistic scientists, that the stars merely exist, and that we have arbitrarily assigned meaning to them.

My statement says, put the conclusions of the Evangelists above all else for now.

So, are the events on earth central to God's plan for the universe?

I understand that the focus of the thread should remain upon the discussion of how the typical believer or presenter views the celestial in regard to that presented in Scriptures. It really is a good question and I think very worthy of insightful discussion.
    You ask:
The focus of the Scriptures is upon the earth, from the time of "void and without form" until all the heavens and earth pass in a fire, places this earth as central in the battle that rages even in this day and in the heavenly places among that which is not seen by the humankind. Evil that will one day be unrestrained, thinking that it has won, yet will be defeated not only in the heavenly but upon this earth.

The two statements of Scriptures that I presented show both the current struggle and the final victor.

Not being a student of the celestial, nor of the work done by others showing how that certain forms can be discerned in the stars and what representation it may bring, is presenting significant problems with me being more specific to the thread question.

A fascinating article, about the stars and the sun and moon alignment at the birth of Christ, is on the web that I read some weeks ago, but if one takes me outside, and starts pointing out this or that, I just don't have a lot of workable comprehension to draw any information.

Scripturally and historically, the universe has been used by both God and humankind to display, demonstrate, and signs. Perhaps there should be more who give education on this subject.

I wonder if the religious righteous will be able to discern the sign in heaven of the Messiah any better the second time than they did the first.

Surely, the star that guided the wise was seen by more than a few looking in the night sky. But did they know the significance? Nope - probably not.

I think that this thing would be for eternity if everything in the Gospels was true. Do not get me wrong, i try to leave my mind open to everything. From all we read it is somehow normal to believe we are the centre of God's plans. If for you the example provided makes it clear, it's okay, but i think those signs are everywhere in Gospels and The New Testament. So if it is all true it is obvious to me that your question is actually a statement.

An honest answer, and gets to the heart of the matter.

ITL and PJ and UOT, go and do likewise.
