The headline on today's NY Daily News prints "God Isn't Fixing This!"

Let me say in response .... NEITHER IS THE man in the White House!

If you wonder what is wrong with America, one doesn't have to look much further than this headline. We need revival in America, because ONLY GOD can fix this.

Does this headline surprise you? Does it sadden you? Does it energize your spiritual resolve to get out there and do what we are commanded to do in Matthew 28:16-20? The time is growing short, we know not when, but we do know He is coming when we least expect it. Revival is for today, not down the road, or even tomorrow! Do you agree?

Being brutally honest here, I don't know brother. From what I see (among many others) most professing believers would resist revival, as they refuse to be corrected by God's Word in the first place and won't endure sound doctrine; 2 Timothy 4:3. This is resisting truth and the Holy Spirit; note John 17:17; Eph. 4:30.

They want revival as long as it doesn't cost them anything and as long as God endorses their errant views. They want revival to straighten out others and put them in their place but they want none of that themselves. It is also apparent professing believers think that the world is to act 'saved' while they get a pass. All of this shows that God is considered a pushover by professing believers. Unlike the devils who believe there is God and shudder, as they should; James 2:19, professing believers say they believe, yet there is no shuddering concerning the person God, as there well should be. Note Job 23:13-17.

I don't expect the world to act like the church so no, I am not at all surprised.

And, to be bi-partisan, the GOP Congress is also not fixing it.

As RD2 pointed out it is our job to carry out the Great Commission. As we go we care for the poor and needy and we love our enemies. That is God's plan and that is hot the early church survived and prospered.

rd2, personally, no, I don't see any need to get out there and do as commanded. Well, yes, there is a need to do so but I see it as shoveling sand against the tide. Right now that is. The world is reaping what the world has sowed.

I agree completely that revival is for today. I come from a line of revivalists, and am now at a church and school that believe strongly in revival for today.

The greatest revival in history will occur during the tribulation period, the most terrible time and the worst persecution in the history of the world. 144,000 Jewish evangelists will go out to preach as well as many Gentile Christians, and multiplied millions will believe in Christ, though they suffer and die for it.

About the Great Tribulation revival, John R. Rice wrote, "And this blessed revival also proves that whatever the outward distress, God's people can seek His face and have His power. Whatever the human limitations, we can have revival. We can have revival when it means persecution and death for Christians. We can have revival when the government is wicked and anti-Christian. We can have revival when modernism is everywhere in the saddle. We can have revival, provided God's faithful few pay God's price and have His mighty power!" (We Can Have Revival Now, p. 33).

    Why Aaron?

    I am inclined to agree.

But does God still deal with nations as individual entities?
What sins qualify for the Lord sending these killers among us?

    Roe vs Wade decision?
    The new definition of marriage?

If we repent as a nation, will God "repent"?

Jonah 3:10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

    Or is it too late?

    Hi Revmitchell,
I already indicated that I believe He does.

Some in the past have made the suggestion that He is now dealing with the nations collectively because of the "Great Commission".
That is why I framed the question the way I did.

Besides Aaron - will you and others (If you/they wish) who believe He still punishes individual nations address the rest of my post inquiries?

    Thanks
    HankD

I understand you believe that. I am asking why? What has God done to give an indication that he has changed that?

I personally think it's too late Hank. When God judged a nation, it was generally because of HIS people's disobedience. And I believe the same thing is happening now.

There are entirely too many Christians who have made politics into their god. Decisions are made based upon political party affiliation rather than the word of God. It in turn causes God's people to not look or act like the God of the Bible.

But because we don't think there is anything wrong with that, there is no repentance. So you've got God's people being as wicked as the folks during the time of Noah and of Sodom and Gomorrah.

There can be no repentance as a nation when you don't think you've done anything wrong.

SO we keep looking to politics and a political system to fix what only God can fix.

And even when we say we know that, we turn around and prove that we don't trust that when we vote to elect people who are against God.

I believe God is fixing this.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:10:11
Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. Mark 1:14,15
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. Matt 24:14 Start at verse 1 for where we are.
And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Luke 11:2

And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.

    It's coming.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:10:11

    Yes.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations . . .

The do not love His Son.

Psalm 2:12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
But these incidents are only a drop in the bucket. Roe vs Wade is part of God's judgment, as is the majority of blind individuals on the Supreme Court and behind the pulpits.

    What do the Scriptures say?

    That I don't know.

I pray that it is not too late but I am inclined to believe judgment is coming.

We were never asked to vote on the "legality" of abortion. It was another scenario where it was suddenly forced upon us without asking we the sheeple.

I voted against same gender marriage but again the SCOTUS made up our minds for the entire nation.

If we are salvageable as a nation then IMO the SCOTUS decisions must be repealed.

If only it were that easy. I think judges are making the decisions they are because of an unBiblical worldview being promulgated by Christians. Because we continue to unrepentantly do wrong, we've lost our platform upon which to point folks to Christ. And thus fewer and fewer come to faith, and the number of folks available for the Holy Spirit to work through to keep wickedness in check gets smaller and smaller. But mostly because those who are in the Body continue to unrepentantly sin. And the Holy Spirit just doesn't work through that. And our sphere of influence gets smaller and smaller.

And when that happens, other things fill the void and starts to influence people.

Cause I got to tell you. In conversing with a lot of people on this board, if I were an unsaved person and I knew that folks feel the way they express things on this board, there is no way I would ever listen to them say anything about Christ and salvation.

And I can't imagine someone attempting to pastor over folks with the lack of love for neighbor that gets displayed because someone disagrees with their POV about something political.

I marked your post Agree, because I do agree with what you say. You need to take the same words and apply them to yourself, however, because the anger you display towards others that don't hold your point of view would definitely cause the unsaved to never listen to you.

I am also guilty in these areas, so point the same fingers at myself.

It's quite likely some people in Jesus'.day rejected his message when they heard himwhich is hard to reconcile arguing views with the leaders they were taught to revere, as well as when he called people names then told them they are in danger of hell fire if #they# call anyone a fool (which is hard to reconcile with Paul later doing so). So it is hard to see your little lecture having the pop you seem to think.

I understand what you're saying. But I can honestly say that I have never been angry at anyone on this board or any other board. If I were angry, I wouldn't talk to the majority of the folks on here :).Perplexed at how folks are blind? Yep. Disgusted at the political views that folks think are the equivalent to God's word? Yep. Disgusted and dismayed at the same racism and racial prejudice that was present during Jim Crow being displayed inside the Church? Yep. Saddened by the lack of love for others that seems to always take a back seat to partisan politics? Yep.

But not hardly angry. Anger makes you need to take a break from folks.
