Why did Japan attack the US? There are a number of reasons such as the Washington Naval Treaty as well as the oil embargo and other restrictions imposed on July 26th, 1941. Here is one from a new book, Japan 1941: Countdown to Infamy by Eri Hotta. Check your public library.

from Japan 1941 by Eri Hotta. In 1941 -- before the attack on Pearl Harbor -- the United States imposed sanctions on Japan as a response to the Japanese invasion of China, aggression in French Indochina, and its alliance with Germany and Italy. Japan was crippled by these sanctions. First, luxury goods disappeared. Then, the more fashionable adopted plain and simple dress. Next, Japanese rice -- a revered cornerstone of Japanese society -- was rationed until it practically disappeared, replaced by imported rice. Finally, rations were reduced to fourteen hundred calories a day and the population was advised to be creative with supplementing their diet.

"In everyday life, luxury goods had quickly disappeared, and there was a shortage of food, most noticeably the main staple, rice. As the conflict in China went on and on, those remaining in the countryside -- the best men had gone to the military and war-related industries -- faced increased pressure to produce more food for the troops. Starting in the summer of 1940, even the fanciest restaurants in Tokyo resorted to serving cheaper imported rice -- the drier kind some scornfully called 'mouse poops' -mixed with potatoes. After April 1941, in six major metropolitan cities once replete with all the conveniences of modem life, people could obtain rice only with ration coupons. By December 1941, this system applied to 99 percent of Japan. In a country where domestically grown rice occupied an exalted, almost sacred place in the national diet, this was seen as a scandalous hardship.

The US economically forced Japan to attack Pearl. And our government knew the exact moment the attack would begin and they said nothing.

Wouldn't this be akin to saying "Society forced that poor young man to murder and rob the victim because he did not have the necessities of life"?

    God bless.

I do not see it that way. The topic is much more complex than can be shown in a few paragraphs.

Let's say that the US produced no oil, cannot produce oil. How would we react if:

    1. Another powerful country established a policy they could enforce preventing any importation of oil into the country?

    2. Imposed an enforceable ban on the production or importation of any beef into the US?

I think we would begin quickly looking for ways around the two bans and possible entertain the idea of war with that country.

Now of course this does not factor in the Japanese ultra-militarists of their day. That is another large factor that has to be taken into account. This is not totally unlike the pro-war stance of the neocons in the Bush administration that were not above inventing reasons to attack Iraq.

The world should have, but obviously did not, learn from the sad experiences in history when militarists have gotten their way and their country has paid a terrible price for the mess those folk got their country into.

    Blessings.

As a Christian I look at war this way: the only justifiable cause is physical aggression towards our country, or, towards another (which is precisely why look at our invasion of Iraq as justified, regardless of other issues presented as the "true reason").

Just as in the case of domestic crime, I see no justification for war or crime based on economic reasons.

If another country gained power over ours to cause grief, then our only recourse would be finding a way to overcome that grief. If it is an economical issue, it should be solved with economical solutions.

I just do not see poverty as a valid reason to go to war.

    God bless.

So then I presume you are against the revolutionary war? What right did men have to kill over taxation? And include WWI, since Wilson made up the entire story of the Germans sinking our boat. In fact every single war in Americas history was fought for much different reasons than the public was aware of. Yet there has never been any shortage of Gods people willing to go and murder when the stars and stripes are waved around. America was born out of rebellion and will be the tool used to bring about the NWO. It is run by men who have given themselves over to Satan and who sacrifice people in the Bohemian Grove.

You are jumping to conclusions and making illogical comparisons. I posted the OP simply for information purposes, not taking sides.

Japan made a huge mistake in attacking Pearl Harbor. There were Japanese generals and admirals who understood this, but they were overridden by militarists. Admiral Isoroku Yamamots said, "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."
And we had good justification in declaring war in Japan.

    Do you agree?

No I do not. We intentionally opened the gate on an aggressive super power and threaten their existence just to protect the Rothschild oil interest in China. We spent thousands of lives to serve greed.

    Actually...yes.

And you state the precise reason yourself...

America was born out of rebellion

None whatsoever. However, if you can find Scriptural justification I would be glad to look at it.

That is irrelevant. The fact remains that their was an active aggression in which innocents were dying, and in situations such as those I feel we have an obligation to help.

    So you say.

As mentioned before, there was an aggression in Iraq against her own people, so I do not stand with those who think it was all about oil.

They forget those who served in the military who's motivations had nothing whatsoever to do with oil.

    Stop right there.

You go too far saying these were "God's People."

First, if they did belong to God (and it is likely some did)...they were out of His will. There is nothing in the New Testament condoning a Christian Military or military operations that run under a guise of Christian.

Secondly, while I am all for having as many Christians in our military as we can possibly have, all Christians in the Military have an obligation to conduct themselves in Biblical Christian conduct.

Lastly, that "God's People," meaning New Testament believers, have ever gone on Military offense is outright ridiculous. So get your story straight as to who it is that did actually "...go and murder."

It was not "God's People." And when God's People were commanded of God to slay (in the Old Testament), it was not murder, but the judgment of God on sinners, which, I will remind you, was exacted on God's People as well.

I am as patriotic as any one, but don't confuse patriotism with idolatry. Many "Christians" can recite the Constitution but couldn't find the New Testament in the Bible.

That is correct. And while we could debate whether it was justified, or whether it was a directive from God, we are not going to get around that fact.

    Right.

    Not every Politician is corrupt.

And I would suggest to you that it is typical for the majority to be ignorant of Scripture, which is the very reason why bad decisions are made. This includes Politicians and officials in power, who may possibly belong to the Lord, but do not have the wisdom Scripture accords leaders. And I don't condemn them any more than I do typical believers. It is only when they reveal themselves to be of an antichristian bent that condemnation is warranted. You can only be so hard on the ignorant.

Secondly, I would also suggest that the President's Office is not something someone steps into and takes control over. It is just my belief that Presidents are forced to work within the structure that has been established, and while there is opportunity for good things to be done, and bad policy to be removed, most will work within that structure, more a puppet than a leader.

There are exceptions, though, and we see some who change policies which drive America further away from God.

    God bless.

If our government knew Japan was about to attack Pearl Harbor and said NOTHING to warn those men then your argument is a moot point. They DID know and they let those men die.

How many of the dead had the Rothschild Oil Industry in mind when they were fighting?

    Got proof of that?

Seems to me if they knew they would have been waiting for them. It would have still been justification for entering the war.

Yes, its all over the net. Its no secret that Americans had broken their secret messages. Their are many many books written by people that were there if you care to look into it.

War is not always murder, though sometimes it is. So to consider all activity in war as murder neglects the example of Justice taught in Scripture. There is little difference between the Military and our civil law enforcement agencies. When war is justified, we step out of a criminal act into one of justice, and to fail to perform in a just manner as a country would be...criminal.

We should have entered WWII long before we did.

You are simply misinformed and I was too for most of my life. I have invested 20 years into this topic, and the unfortunate conclusion was WWII served no good to mankind. I wish there was an easy way to learn it. But it takes some effort.

I think you are reading too much into it. Just because they had "general information" doesn't mean they knew the time of the attack. Today we are in a similar environment, where it is likely we have general information that there is going to be an attack by someone somewhere.

Doesn't mean there is political manipulation involved. And if an attack occurs the same charge could be levied.

Again, they could have just as easily been awaiting the attack and that would have still justified entering the war. While I would not put such manipulation out of the realm of possibility, again, I ask you to show proof, rather than questionable speculation, that they knew the time of the attack and withheld this information so there would be justification. We understand that our Government is a secular Government, so we are not surprised when questionable events take place, but, I have a little more faith in people, and this would have been a grievous betrayal of the public trust. Men are evil, and sometimes evil men hold powerful position that Impact the lives of many (did I just say sometimes?).

And about out of time so I will have to get back to this. Interesting, though.

    God bless.
