You may question that statement, but think about it?! There is a lot to like about the Donald! Too much to list right now. HOWEVER ... anyone running for a public office, especially the office of president, can't be completely trusted. I think history has proven this to be true, in that everyone in my generation, elected to POTUS, have, in one way or another, failed to deliver on ALL of their promises, and in the case of some, they didn't even try to accomplish what they promised!

So, while I like Trump, out of all the candidates, I can't trust that he will in any way follow through with even half of the promises he is making! Nevertheless, if he follows through on at least half of the promises, then my liking, him was well worth voting for him, if, in fact, he is the choice, I am given to choose between!

I am sure there will be those who dislike what I say, so go, and post your response! It is still America, and your views are what I am posting this for!

Were you to vote for Trump, it would not be for a Conservative.

In an interview on CNN recently Donald Trump told Anderson Cooper "I like the health insurance mandate." On Sunday on Fox News he was asked to clarify.

WALLACE: Mr. Trump, question: do you support the individual mandate on Obamacare or not?

TRUMP: Right. Let me explain to you. First of all, I don’t want mandates for anything. I want people to get. I don’t want people dying in the streets.

I was actually talking over Anderson Cooper, who I thought it was a great interview and he’s a great interviewer. But I was talking over him. He was talking at the same time. He mentioned the word “mandate,” and I was talking about something else, to be honest with you. It doesn’t matter. It’s not a very complicated —

WALLACE: But, wait, you said “I like the mandate”.

TRUMP: I like — I want people to be covered that cannot afford to be covered that are — I don’t want people dying in the streets. That’s not mandate. That’s me. That’s having a heart.

I don’t want people dying in the streets. I don’t want people to have no health care whatsoever and they’re in the middle of the street dying. And I talk about it all the time.

And you know what? When I give these speeches where I have 10,000 and 15,000 and 20,000 people and I talk as a Republican, as a conservative Republican, and I talk about that and I say, “I don’t want people dying because they have no money,” I get standing ovations.

You know, the Republicans are not bad people. I get standing ovations. So, I think it’s very important. I’m not going to have people dying in the street if I’m president. I can tell you that. You can call it whatever you want.

I'm hoping RD2 can translate this for us... after all, sounds a lot like his writing style.

If HE is the choice, how are you choosing BETWEEN him?Biggrin

And I still don't quite understand this whole trust thing in elections. People say they don't think Hillary is trustworthy. You say you don't trust him(Trump) to do half of the things he says.

When dealing with a President who makes Presidential decisions, why should we be placing our trust in a President to REALLY do any more than what he is Constitutionally required to do?

I just don't believe that whether or not a President keeps a campaign promise can really be considered an issue of trust especially if said promise cannot be kept without the consent of Congress.

Of course you can't. His comments - example listed above - are always incoherent and end up with a simple - "trust me, I'll make America great again." Remember his ramblings on Planned Parenthood?

The lack of policy knowledge and specifics are incredible. Add to that, it wasn't that long ago he was a high tax, pro-abortion democrat. Unbelievable...

I sure hope at Thursday night's debate that someone, either the moderators or the other candidates call out Trump and ask him, "How"? How are you going to:

    a.) Make America great again.
b.) Make Mexico pay for the wall
c.) Take care of our veterans
d.) make the military so strong no one will want to mess with us.
e.) bring back jobs from Mexico and China
    f.) make great trade deals
    g.) start winning again

When Trump offers no specifics and launches into his well-worn stump speech that ought to open up some eyes that this guy is a cliche generator without any substance.
