1985 Sanders praise of Castro

In 1985 Sanders made a fool of himself by praising the Communist prison island of Cuba owned since 1959 by the Castros, who, as you know, percentagewise murdered more people than Lenin and Stalin. However, millions of Americans admire the butcher Castros and blame themselves instead of communism for the North Korea misery in Cuba. The Stalinist propaganda about advanced healthcare and education serve as cover for a criminal enterprise.

You are correct that it is not a surprise. Bernie honeymooned in the very unromantic Soviet Union--wouldn't that be nuts? And Bernie spent part of his youth on an Israeli collective farm--a kibbutz--that was Stalinist communist and anti-Israeli. Bernie probably is a communist at heart.
