Public display

CTB - would you consider using a standard color font? I typically use a black background, and have trouble reading what you post.

 

Does this really have to be explained to you?

I thought so but in the other thread he said a party he doesn't believe ever existed is now dead so..........

 

Jesus defined marriage as one man and one woman. You gonna push for that CTB?

 

I think it's a combination of what you said and what Ann said. Perhaps if Christians started LIVING out the two Greatest Commandments it wouldn't matter which ones were displayed?

I did however notice that it was often the meanest, nastiest "Christian" types complaining about the displays of the 10 Commandments while displaying nothing of the love for or of Christ and neighbor that the commandments cover.

 

I personally think labeling America with the upside down, cruciform kingdom of Christ would be a disaster. There is a reason that the gospel and kingdom of Christ is a scandal, moreso here than other places.

Plus, America (or any nation in this fallen world) as a government and nation would absolutely fail if it lived out the SotM. That is not sustainable as a political power. However, the moral code of the 10 words are a proper moral guideline that all nations can follow.

However, and this is the funny thing, those who advocate the 10 commandments being put up are in essence saying that they represent the moral law of God. Ergo, they are advocating a Westminster/LBC understanding of the Law. But many of these people are not reformed. So it is ironic and funny to me. I sorta like the reformed confessional way of understanding the Law and 10 commandments.

 

Boy, how do you know it's even true there are " none?" One possible reason, though, the TC's get more public attention is they don't say you're going to hell for calling someone a fool, as Jesus did in his SOTM.
