The following is my opinion, and I hope it solicits response from many of you. What the civilized, free world needs to do immediately following these cowardly suicide attacks is to dispatch a rapid response military team that, within hours of the terror event, go full force into known terrorist strongholds in Iraq and Syria (or in Africa) and kill as many of the terrorists and their families if need be.

Their aggression needs to be met with counter aggression that does even more damage and death than they unleashed in their attack on innocent people. This may seem harsh, and it may even solicit sympathy for the terrorists, but in the end, if the terrorists begin to feel the wrath of their enemy, their resolve will eventually wind down.

I would like to know what some of you think should be done to stop the senseless murder of innocent civilians at the hands of radical Muslim Jihadists. I know many will say the killing of civilians, or what is termed as collateral damage will be a topic of criticism, but you never hear the terrorists being criticized for the senseless slaughter of Western civilians, innocent too, so it is time to do as the Bible teaches, an 'eye-for-an-eye!' type of warfare. Political.correctness in war needs to be put aside, or we will continue to see this kind of warfare unleashed against us, and unleashed in increased fashion.

    Your views are are appreciated.

If they already know where the known terrorist strongholds are, why have they been waiting for something like this to happen in order to kill the terrorists?O O

Again, if they (whoever THEY may be) knows of terrorist locations, what's been the holdup?

Have they claimed responsibility? Shouldn't the powers that be at least wait to see who has claimed responsibility before they start blowing stuff up?
O O So YOUR defense is that because no one "criticizes" the T-E-R-R-O-R-I-S-T-S... Let's be clear here. We're talking about TERRORISTS. Now I want you to just think about that word and them not being "criticized". They are terrorists. Criticizing them probably isn't going to hurt their self-esteem too much.Biggrin

I'll leave the response up to the government. As for this board that is supposed to be a reflection of Christ, I've never thought it a good idea for Christians to be so eager for revenge, retaliation, death of others , etc.

Let the secular government do what they do. As for me and my house, we shall fight this battle in the SpiritThumbsup and do those things that from the Christ side, supports those who will make such decisions.

First of all, I find it difficult to believe that with satellite ability, we don't know where strongholds are .

Secondly, why are we always worried about who it was who did it. A terrorists is a terrorist. Take 'em out.

Third, the OT is full of war and killing, and God was always sending Israel out to destroy their enemies.

Finally, you guys always claim the US is not a Christian nation, when it is convenient to their argument. Since we are not a Christian nation, so be it, then act out of wrath and anger and take these guys out. After all, we are not controlled by the bible.

Perhaps. But if we KNOW, what have we been waiting on? To see how many people will get killed next?

Doesn't it make sense to go after the folks who actually DID something? This sounds like 9/11 all over again. The breakdown was 15 Saudis, one Egyptian, one Lebanese and two from the Union of Arab Emirates. But we attack Iraq?Sneaky

We aren't Israel. So what country's leader do you propose God speak to and tell them to go after these guys wherever they may be?

Actually, I do. All the time. Every day. Even in this post.

By making this statement, you demonstrate that you are not thinking clearly at all. Do you realize that the terrorists WANT us to do exactly what you are demanding? This is an apocalyptic cult of Islam that is trying to draw the West into a war where WE will act as ruthlessly as they do - killing innocents indiscriminately - in a massive overreaction so that it will create enormous anger among the rest of the world's Muslims so that they will be turned from Western influences (especially Christianity) and join this group.

You are acting just as the terrorists want you to act. And its always a bad tactic to do exactly what your enemy wants you to do.

Terrorism strives to use relatively small acts of horror/terror to change government policy and public opinion on the basis of fear, not reason, wisdom and prudence. They are trying to get us to change who we are.

If we cease to be decent people who actually care about the killing of innocents, then we will become like our enemies and not like Christ. The terrorists win.

    I suspect they are not.

Do you even read/listen/watch the news before you make comments like this?

That is not what they want. They want to beat us into submission. They want to do this by creating fear. It works in some areas. For example people have become afraid to say anything negative about Islam or Mohammed. they also want to take over by overpopulation. It is in fact occurring in places like Michigan. They want to become part of local governments so they have decision making authority to force Sharia on others. They use propaganda to pain themselves as victims of the big bad west.

No one here has suggested doing this.

Yes really. Mentioning collateral damage is not indiscriminate killing. That would be an inaccurate and over the top characterization. Even when there is collateral damage the targeting can be very discriminating

The GOP frontrunner is on record as proposing this concept which you think no one is suggesting. Collateral damage is nothing to casually brush aside. Anyone that has served should know better. Collateral damage is indiscriminate killing no matter how you slice it. Flippantly dismissing it is alarming.

Actually, your way of thinking is what is losing this war. There needs to be dire consequences for each attack. Enemies can't be allowed to kill us without knowing we will in tirn kill fifty times more of their numbers. The fifty is an out of the air number. We need to kill more bad guys every time they kill our civilians.

The best and most effective weapon the enemies of FREEDOM and a moral civilization is "political correctness!" Adhering to a strict definition and understanding of being PC will kill us all, with nary a bullet or bomb needed

But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be 1guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘2You good-for-nothing,’ shall be 1guilty before 3the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be 1guilty enough to go into the fiery hell. Matt. 5:22

Just another reason why Christians need to leave politics and war to the secular world. There is absolutely NOTHING that represents Christ in anything you said.

I ask this sincerely. How do you reconcile your comment above with yours below? You seem to be advocating two opposing opinions.

That's simple. Doing your civic duty to vote for someone to be "in charge" in government does not go against keeping Christ first.

I'll cast my vote for someone who I believe holds those first two items on my list near and dear. And if that means I have to write someone in, I will.

But when Christians start to say things like
or that we need to start policing Muslim neighborhoods differently than we police other neighborhoods, it tells me that Christ has taken a back seat to politics for that person.

But once I've done my civic duty, I will continue to fight the Spiritual war as it is the war Christ has called His followers to fight. And getting involved in the politics of a secular war to the point that your witness looks like everything but a witness for Christ as exampled by RD2's quote above, it simply IS NOT what Christ has left us here to do.

Our focus HAS to be His commission to us. And anything that renders our witness to point people to Him as less than Christlike needs to be quickly abandoned and put back in its rightful place.

The problem I have expressed with politics on this board and in general from a lot of Christians is that so many don't quite understand when the politics have taken over. And I just don't think that it presents a proper picture of Christ for Christians to be advocating revenge and retaliation to the point of killing people.

That's the way of the world. The Way that is Christ is completely different. And I prefer that His way and what HE wants accomplished to be what I, as His follower, am known for focusing on...not the politics of killing and retaliation.

Thanks, Zaac. Your response was helpful.

    A few points:

    Agree.

Nothing wrong with that if that is your conviction. Not everyone is of the same opinion, though. Some think it important to consider other criteria. It is not a reflection of their Spiritual Walk if they do so with clear conscience. My opinion.

How do you make that determination? The impression is that you base your wide-ranging condemnation simply on a difference of opinion or that it is a trolling-point.

It is no secret that we have had differences. I do not wish this to be one of those times. I have tried to write respectfully but plainly, and I hope that you read it as such.

    Cheers.
