Thanks to advances in technology, "You don't have to settle for the world as it is; you can create the world as you want it to be," President Barack Obama told young people in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Wednesday. "You have the freedom to build the world in powerful and disruptive ways."

One of the young community organizers at the town hall picked up on that point, saying she honestly believes that the world needs to change. She asked Obama for his advice on creating social change -- in her case, by empowering young people living in poverty.

In the course of answering the question, the president indicated that the "sharp division" between "capitalist and communist or socialist" is starting to blur, and instead of clinging to any one of those ideologies, people should just do what works to create change:

"o often in the past, there's been a sharp division between left and right, between capitalist and communist or socialist," Obama said. "And especially in the Americas, that's been a big debate, right? Oh, you know, you're a capitalist Yankee dog, and oh, you know, you're some crazy communist that's going to take away everybody's property.

"And, I mean, those are interesting intellectual arguments, but I think for your generation, you should be practical and just choose from what works. You don't have to worry about whether it neatly fits into socialist theory or capitalist theory -- you should just decide what works."

What is the difference between the Communist Party and the 2016 Democrat Party?

Rev. Mitchell said, "You don't have to worry about whether it neatly fits into socialist theory or capitalist theory -- you should just decide what works."

This reminds me of Deng Xiao Ping's comment reportedly said in 1962, "It doesn't matter whether the cat is black or white, as long as it catches mice."

They are not alike. Check the tenets of Communism and learn the difference.

If you had actually read the op via the link before you post you would not have embarrassed yourself like this. Obama said this not me.

    Doesn't matter, you quoted it.

Irregardless, it sounds very much like what Deng Xiao Ping said. Don't know if you know how much trouble Deng got into for making that statement.

    Hmmm, I'll help you;

    From: http://factsanddetails.com/china/cat2/sub7/item81.html

In 1966, during the Cultural Revolution, Deng was labeled as the "No. 2 Capitalist Roader" and was stripped of his position as Party General Secretary. During a humiliating self criticism session Deng was accused of being a "fascist," a "traitor" and a practitioner of cat-ism (a reference to his white cat, black cat remark). During the sessions, Red Guards shouted, "Cook the dog's head in boiling oil!" When the noise became too much, Deng used to remove his hearing aid.

p.s. I'll let you research "Capitalist Roader," and "Cultural Revolution".

Does matter. It wasn't Rev who said it. If you quoted something Bush or Reagen said, would you want Rev attributing it to you?

And "irregardless" isn't proper usage. Use "regardless" instead.

    Depends on what was said.

Perhaps I should have said from Rev. Mitchell's post.

Regardless, the two quotes are very similar in meaning.

No you tried, like you always do, to attribute it to me. It is a debate tactic and it is purely dishonest.. Everyone sees what you did ad remember that you do it regularly.

By the way it was your hero Obama who said it.

Why do you not want me to say you said if you quoted it? Do you agree with Obama?

Do you agree with what he said?

Not the point of the opening post or the thread.

Based on the logic you're exhibiting here, I guess YOU agree with every quote you've posted from Bush. 'Bout time you finally admitted it.

Take a look at the turmoil that is Chicago and you'll see how Obama likes things to work.

I cannot see any difference between the tenets of the Communist Party and the 2016 Democrat Party. Obama posed in front of Che's memorial and embraced serial-murderer Raul and then ran to former Iranian ally Argentina without saying a word about the murder of Jews in Argentina. His tango was laughable and nothing like Robert Duvall in the film Assassination Tango.

It is as I expected, you have no idea what the tenets of Communism are, so do a bit of research. I have posted them on occasion to try to help educate folk who had no idea what they were talking about.

CTB, which set of tenets of Communism are you referring to? Those of Marx, Lenin, Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot or the CPUSA of 2016, each set differs to a certain degree from the others.

Does anyone else suspect CBT of being more than one person? I sense different styles in some of his/her posts.
