With all the National Enquirer, Jerry Springer like headlines about candidates running for president having an affair is not new. Does anyone remember how how Senator Gary Hart and his affair with Donna Rice sunk him faster then the Titanic?

    http://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/article2185644.html

Who believes Trump started this rumor? I was standing in line at WalMart in December and my wife pointed out a gossip magazine with the headline: Cruz and his mystery mistress will end his run for office.

This was back when Trump and Cruz were actually civil towards one another. In fact they were both heaping praise upon each other, and many speculated Cruz would be Trumps VP.

SNIP Ted may have been exposed, but I doubt it was Trump who ratted him out.

So, even if this ugly secret is any where being a teensy bit true, do you believe it would end his run for president like it did Gary Hart? After all, we are living in a society where nothing is unacceptable any longer. We have digressed morally, and this rumor could light a fuse of popularity under the Cruz train for DC.

And who can forget John Edwards? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Edwards_extramarital_affair

And Bill Clinton wasn't a candidate for "Choir Boy" of the year!?

Do you give a candidate's immorality a pass based on his political stances? (Google "Trump's personal Vietnam".)

There are just more important things to worry about this time around.

A lesbian Marxist vs a womanizing Constitutionalist. What works out better for my neighbor in the long run?

(I don't believe the Cruz stories, btw, but even if they were true, that's not a hill to die on.

Pant suits and demeanor aside, how do you know? Or are you repeating a rumor?

Unless I have missed something, no one has offered up any real proof of any cheating. Until then I will wait, and not rush to judgement.

If it does end up being true, and he ended up being the nominee, I would probably still vote for him over either demoncrat candidate. Actually there is no scenario where I would vote for them.

I take that to mean that you would have to agree, there are more important things to worry about this time around.

How do you come to that conclusion? You presume much. It was a question not a statement.

Okay, a Marxist pure as the driven snow vs a womanizing Constitutionalist. What's best for my neighbor in the long run?

Again, a measure of a lack of character. [IMG] Nothing but idolatry. Perhaps this type of thinking is why God keeps giving us more of what we deserve instead of what we want? Where on earth does this self-centered notion that one sinful man can fix things better than another sinful man keep arising? More so, why has this notion infected the minds of Christians?

Our primary focus has to be Christ. And until Christians en masse start to get this, I pray that He keeps giving us exactly what we deserve.

Honoring Christ works out better in the eternity run. And supporting that which is against Him ain't helping your neighbor. That's about YOU, not your neighbor.Wink

I do not know about idolatry, but it does seem that character is not something that is valued by Trump's supporters. If he cannot be faithful to his wife, can he be trusted to be faithful to his Oath of Office?

Nothing but the absolute truth. Don't tell me you love God or your neighbor if you can't be faithful to your wife.

And anything that gets placed before our allegiance to uphold the standard of Christ is idolatry.

I love the rush to judgment. The burden of proof is on the accuser. So far there has not been any proof. Until such time stoking the flames of innuendo is a 9th commandment violation.

Zaac, other than William Jennings Bryan, which major party presidential candidate would you have voted for? I can't think of any other than WJB who had a clear testimony of salvation.

    Well, there is this:

Deuteronomy 19:15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

Personally I believe this smut smearing has gotten out of hand. Who can believe anything now with any amount of "witnesses".

This is a great embarrassment to America - two rival presidential candidates calumniating each other on global media which has now encircled the earth.

The GOP has been destroyed - at least for this election.

Make way to welcome to our first woman or socialist president.

Squire, I can't really think of one recently except for George W Bush in 2000. I got to hear what I thought was a clear testimony of a salvation experience from him. And he appeared to love his neighbors.

The thing that caused me to question him was his foolishness, three times mind you, of saying that Muslims and Christians worship the same God.Thumbsdown

I refused to vote for him a second time.

I believe that if Christians are serious about effecting change for this world and this country and the potential next generation, we can't keep supporting people to govern us who don't love Jesus and who have consistently shown through their deeds and life and political actions that they don't love their neighbors.

You don't keep a boat from sinking by continuing to pour water in it.

The state of this world and country is in large part, the fault of the Body, selfishly and unrepentantly endorsing and supporting that which is against Christ.

We have decided that our way of fixing things is the better way. Thumbsdown

How do you know he was unfaithful? Because Donald Trump said so? Is "Donald said so" the biblical criteria for establishing the facts of any such issue? Or has God set a different standard which we blithely ignore?

    I was talking about Trump.Biggrin

I don't give much credence to what his camp is saying about Cruz mistresses.
