Ok once it quoted the book of enoch I was done.

 

The book of Enoch was not a deal-killer, but the appalling theology, the conspiracy theories, and the rampant misuse of footage designed to scare the audience demonstrated to me that the makers of the video are not interested in truth nor understand the scriptures.

One simple example: They used footage of the Columbia Space Shuttle orbiter breaking up over Fort Worth as an example of a "UFO." No, it was an identified flying object. It irritates me that such a tragic event would be misused. Unfortunately, that was not the exception, but the rule in the video.

 

You seem quite invested in this video. Did you or a group you associate with put it together?

 

The use of the word invested does not have to only mean money. We can invest all sorts of things into something like time, effort, emotions etc. It does not appear that BB was being sarcastic.

 

I don't think anyone has accused you of trying to make money off the video.

I wasn't being sarcastic or trying to be funny.

I do think the theology (which simply reflects a very popular view of the Apocalypse introduced by Darby's dispensationalistic interpretation of scripture) is appalling.

I do think that the misuse of footage in the video almost certainly violates a number of copyrights and goes well beyond the doctrine of "Fair Use." Moreover, the footage in the video is often misused to make it try to fit the message. The overall effect is dishonest.

Added to that, this reminds me quite a bit of the videos and tracts presented to me as a young person, designed to somehow scare me into faith. Instead of scaring me, those presentations made me quite cynical about the gospel and undermined the work of the Spirit in my life. I know I am not alone in that. Many of my childhood friends do not identify as Christians anymore because they wrote the whole thing off as the church trying to scare people into social conformity instead of something real.

I am sorry that I have offended you. I was not trying to harm you in any way.

Please reconsider releasing this into the world.

 

Everyone has the right to an opinion, like the person demonstrating their right by calling this a "dumb" post. Chances are they couldn't sit long enough to watch this video link. And that is the tragedy of the new forums rating system.

But like some wise person once said, it takes one to know one! Dumb that is.
