Trump’s chief strategist Paul Manafort told members of the Republican National Committee in a closed-door briefing here Thursday afternoon that his candidate has been playing a “part” on the campaign trail, but is starting to pivot toward presenting a more businesslike and presidential “persona.”

“He gets it,” Manafort told RNC members. “The part that he’s been playing is now evolving into the part that you’ve been expecting. The negatives will come down, the image is going to change, but ‘Crooked Hillary’ is still going to be ‘Crooked Hillary.’”

The RNC members laughed at Manafort’s use of Trump’s derogatory nickname for Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. “She is going to hate him,” Manafort said. “And he enjoys digging it in that way.”

Manafort argued that Clinton’s negative favorability ratings are caused by “character” issues, whereas Trump’s are fueled by “personality” concerns.

“Fixing personality negatives is a lot easier than fixing character negatives,” Manafort said. “You can’t change somebody’s character, but you can change the way a person presents himself.”

Well, well, well. Trump been faking it the whole time. Trumpeters are being played for fools. Whadaya gonna do when Trump isn't angry anymore? When he doesn't yell at people? Doesn't insult and call people names? BECOMES JUST LIKE ANY OTHER POLITICIAN?

Which Donald are you going to vote for? The loud obnoxious, politically incorrect Donald? Or the new, more "presidential", politically correct Donald?

Also, what would your reaction be if Hillary were to announce she's been "playing a part" and will now change spots and become someone else? Perchance would there be a wailing outcry?

He is a wildcard, unpredictable, and unknowable.

Yes. Not the sort of person that Wall Street would embrace. They love predictability.

If a person does not understand Trump then they certainly have little or no understanding of we humans or of politicians.

They do but what they will do is never a factor in my decision making process for President.

Oh, I agree. But Wall Street will play a part in any economic recovery. If they have no confidence in the President it could be rough sledding.

Well right now its propped up on air. If we do not begin a positive correct soon we may get in trouble.

I don't want to go off-topic but there's been two corrections in the past eight months.

Yes, you are right. It is quite obvious there are folk on the BB that have no understanding of Wall Street. The second correction is displayed very nicely in the chart below.

Yea, not really. those were blips. First the government needs to stop propping up the market. That causes it to sit on air. It is not real. Second we need to let the market drop to where it would go without government interference so that it motivates business people and risk takers to create industry devoid of government.

In what way is the government propping up the market? Why would a bear market be to your benefit or the benefit of the American people?

The argument can be made that with interest rates very low, investors have little choice but to put money into the stock market to get any kind of return. Well, that was true for the past eight years, so that effect has long since been absorbed into the market. Otherwise I have no clue what Rev means when he says the government is propping up the market.

    It wouldn't.

No, a 10% decline is a correction, not a "blip".

Thanks for the reply. We know Rev. makes flamboyant statements, but cannot back them up or elaborate on them.

A bear market, as you indicated, would be very bad for many people. Remember what happened under Bush's watch?
