Yes, so, I am on disability and so my income is limited or fixed as they say. The devil has been actively attacking me the past week or so. I can guess why, and it's been relentless. And worse of all, my Pastor is away on business so I can't talk to him.

Anyway, with everything going wrong, my iMac died on me. I tried to do what I know to do but could not get it to work. I prayed and prayed the Lord would show me what to do to fix it, or even if He would fix it.

However, I ended up having to call Apple. They had me try 5 different things over the phone, and none of them worked. So, the lady told me I'd have to bring it in. At this stage of the game, I do not have extra cash for this unexpected turn of events so I had to ask her How much? She told me Nothing! It's covered under warranty. I was shocked. I remember when I bought the iMac my nephew who is huge on Apple fan talked me into buying the Mac and he told me I didn't need the extended warranty as Macs never have major problems.

So, I got to the store and asked if I could still purchase the extended warranty and they told me, I did purchase it, and that's why it's covered.

I didn't even remember purchasing it. So, Praise the Lord! And the quoted price for repair is over $600 which I would have to save up to get it fixed.

I am so grateful, I cannot stop thanking God. While He did not miraculously fix my computer, He did make sure I had the warranty in place so I can get it fixed for free.

Glad that it was fixed. Know the feeling. I can live without TV or even some music. But not the internet. That is where you can get them all. On the internet. Good for you!

Go get yourself a library card. It is a wonderful new invention that allows you to find all the information you find on the internet in some things made from dead trees called "books."

Those of us my age went all through school with no internet, no Google, no Wikipedia. Just a library card.

You can spend hours and hours just browsing (browsing is an ancient word that means "surfing the net").

Try it. You'll like it! :D

You must be REAL OLD. How could you live without the internet and this forum. What a primitive life you led, there must be someone you can sue about it. Probably didn't even have a color TV, if you even had TV. You were probably forced to actually go outside and play with your friends.

Ahhh the good old days, I miss them

I'm in that slightly younger generation, but I certainly felt sorry for my parents and their struggle to learn to operate a VCR. Just think how greater that "Greatest Generation" would have been had they the internet to learn what was important, social media to develop meaningful relationships, digital media to appreciate the arts, hundreds of t.v. channels to teach them values and culture, and Black Ops 3 to grasp the realities of war. Perhaps they are called the "greatest" for turning out as well as they did without those necessities.

I remember the first boyfriend who could program a VCR, he was supposed to be a keeper just for that.

Although Kevin is not my real name, ( I never use my real name on the internet) I registered a long time ago and don't remember why I used it, I assure you I am male, and NEVER had a boyfriend, and never wanted one either. My older sisters boyfriend is who I was talking about.

Yes!... I had one and I lived there... Still have that addiction and I can go into a bookstore and spend half a day there and never buy anything... I'm a little older than TC but not by much... Still read things made from dead trees... Just to sit in your easy chair and open up a good book (or the good book)... Well there is nothing like it!... When I first got on the internet what a surprise!... A gigantic Library!... Isn't that what it is and so much more?... Brother GlenThumbsupThumbsupThumbsup

I pulled a book from my shelf this week and complained that I couldn't read it without my glasses - font was too small!

I also needed to get up and turn on the light to see the page.

This old man likes his digital toys!

Love my Kindle. I can take it with me anywhere. There are roughly 5000 titles on it including several study bibles and some commentaries. And it will also work as a tablet to access the internet. :)

Let me give you a tip. If you have internet, it will take a little bit of time but you can have enough to get a Kindle Fire in less than a month or a regular Kindle (e-ink kind) in just over a month or so if you do some online things like Swagbucks. I've been doing it for years and last year I earned $625 from it and in the past, the Paypal that I've earned through Swagbucks has purchased an iPhone, my Kindle, 5 nights in our favorite vacation spot, a solar charger for our electronics, Christmas gifts and things like that. You may want to look into it. The Kindle Fire has been on sale as low as $40 recently so it wouldn't take too long to get that kind of money! I just cashed out for $25 worth of Paypal and another $5 for Dunkin Donuts. You can get Amazon gift cards too and even for a discount. :) If you want to know more, let me know.
