It goes further than Obama and his morally corrupt edicts, it goes to those who want their rights while trouncing over the rights of others. It goes with people in our nation who call themselves Christians voting for people like Obama and others. Those who believe having Godly men and women in places of authority is a separate issue from politics not realizing those go hand in hand. We as believers in the Lord Jesus have a Spiritual obligation to seek out and vote for those men and women who do that which is right in God's sight not in the sight of the people and not for a specific party line. Many as believers have settled too long for the lesser of two evils and instead of praying that God will place Godly leaders in office, those who do that which is right in HIS sight, just hasn't happened in our latest elections and isn't occurring in this primary season. We need men and women who have integrity to step up and seek office, people like J.C. Watt and others. What our nation and our world needs is a good old fashioned revival like the one that occurred in 1857. That occurred because of one man starting a prayer meeting in New York city and the prayer meeting growing into a great revival, one like those of our lifetime have never seen.

What we want is not revival but the advancement of our views.

Best advice is to just live your life and forget the noise. With all of the political changes in the last 16 years I essentially still have the freedom to do what I want. I go to work, I go to church, I spend the interim time with my family. I grow weary about the constant "sky is falling" posts.

rev, unfortunately you can't have revival without repentance. And the brand of Christianity practiced by many in this country does not produce maturing Christians who confess and repent of sin.

As the many mores on this board often show, we tend to try to make Christ and His righteousness bend to our politics instead of our politics bending to Him and His righteousness.

As such, we will continue to unrepentantly sin and wonder why the very culture of wickedness to which we so regularly unrepentantly contribute continues to overtake the country?

This is a "re-quote" I jotted down yesterday from an article quoting David Platt -

"You and I stand on the porch of eternity. Both of us will soon stand before God to give an account for our stewardship of the time, the resources, the gifts, and ultimately the gospel he has entrusted to us. When that day comes, I’m convinced we will not wish we had given more of ourselves to live the American dream."

Very well said by David. I would say without a doubt, overconcern with the American dream and how much of our stuff we get to keep to pass on to our kids and our grandkids by far rule the day over us making decisions based upon what will grow God's eternal Kingdom.

Which again completely floors me how so many Christians can continue to support that which is blatantly against Christ just because they desire a party to win an election moreso than they desire to see souls saved.

But that's what happens when we don't seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

2 Peter 2:7-9King James Version (KJV)
7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds

9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

Many are like "Lot" as we see, he vexed his righteous soul. But many believe today a believer can't do that, yet Loy did just that as a righteous that one that had imputation of righteousness because he believed in the savior who was to come yet lived with and overlooked the culture of Sodom and Gomorrah!
