I thought I had heard it all but this morning someone referred to Jesus as their Big Brother. By the way they also call Him Lord. I am assuming they get that from Hebrews 2 and some other passages.

My question is do you feel it is a proper or improper designation to refer to Him as our Big Brother?

Think about it like this: that person will be judged according to their understanding of it. I think some feel it's okay, though I myself see it as a little irreverent. It's a little bit like "The Big Guy up in the sky," lol.

Don't think I would chastise someone about it, or let it bother me. Might give 'em a funny look, though, lol.

    God bless.

Scripture also says that Jesus is David's son however I do not believe that David, if he was with us, would call Jesus his son.

    Excellent point.

We know what he would call Him:

    Mark 12:35-37

    King James Version (KJV)

35 And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the son of David?

36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

37 David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.

    God bless.
