Our Lord has seen fit to send spiritual warnings to Christians, pseudo-Christians and even those who do not profess Christianity.

He does this not only through His written and preached Word, but through natural occurring events, as well as unnatural occurring events.

Two naturally occurring events have been evidenced in the recent incidents involving naïve, ignorant children and the dangers wild beasts naturally pose when inadvertently wandering or falling into their path.

Although there are several Baptist Board members like Darrell, Mitchell, Utilyan and Light Man who cannot and will not discern events in a spiritual context, preferring naturalistic, humanist views instead, those who do have eyes to see and ears to hear understand the Lord has given this generation a fallen world rich is spiritual truth.

And these spiritual truths reflect and reinforce biblical teachings which God would have us receive, believe and obey.

An unnatural event recently occurred in California when a judge’s six month sentence was viewed as inappropriate.

The outrage over the lenient sentence which Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge, Aaron Persky, handed down to rapist, Brock Turner, has resulted in a petition calling for the judge’s removal through legal proceedings.

As of this writing 1.21 million citizens have signed the petition.

This case reflects several spiritual truths:

    1. Human justice on earth frequently falls short of the righteousness required by the Lord, the Judge of all the earth.

    2. All men have been given, by their Creator, a sense of right and wrong; a sense of the necessity that justice be served. That sense is especially heightened in Christians.

    3. The Evil One is ever waiting and watching for any opportunity to harm both unbelievers and believers. In this case, a drunken, unconscious woman was easily overpowered by a son of the Evil One, who saw an opportunity and took it.

Christians are warned to be ever vigilant; to be filled with the Spirit, not drunk from imbibing alcohol or drugs, lest evil overtake them.

Christians are also made quite aware that all judgment has been given to Christ.

His judgment will be true and righteous.

His punishment will be exact: the punishment will fit the crime.

Herein lies a controversy between us and our Pelagian, Arminian, non-Cal friends.

They would have Christ dying in the stead of all mankind, yet He did not quite satisfy God's justice.

We know this to be their teaching because most for whom they allege Christ died will be thrown into the Lake of Fire.

Had Christ propitiated justice, they would not be condemned.

We, on the contrary, believe Scripture unequivocally teaches Christ dying and paying, in full, the sin debt/punishment due sinners, but for only those given Him by the Father.

Our opponents would have Christ’s atonement accomplish nothing without man’s free will contribution of personal assent.

We believe Scripture unequivocally teaches Christ’s atonement was perfect and complete; efficacious in saving to the uttermost those chosen by the Father to be redeemed by the Son.

The Father’s choice was free and independent of anything allegedly foreseen and possibly favorable in man, including justifying faith.

Christ’s atonement on behalf of the Elect, satisfied, in full, God’s justice.

“It is finished” = Justice is served.

Thus, without doing violence to His justice, God was now free to give to those Chosen Ones all graces necessary for eternal life.....including justifying faith.

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?(Romans 8:32).

But there is a second point of contention surrounding the judgment of God.

Though all mankind has instilled within their very core a desire for justice, not all mankind believes the severity of God’s coming justice.

True, they can see the need for justice, but they cannot see the need for God’s version of justice, whereby He executes unrelenting punishment, day and night, forever.

It is not until the ignorant, unbelieving sinner’s eyes and ears are opened to this dreadful reality that it is possible to receive and believe this hard truth.

And this miracle can only be achieved by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit when accompanied by the washing of water by the Word of God.

Unlike our adversaries who posit a kind of sanctity in the human will which God must not overpower, we pray the Lord not only overpower, but destroy and re-create the enslaved will and hardened heart of our unbelieving, lost loved ones that they would then have the eyes to see, the ears to hear and the heart and will to believe the truth of their depraved condition which only Christ can cure.

Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts (Psalm 65:4).

It almost sounds like your saying our salvation is in jeopardy because there something right we should be doing.

    What happened to FAITH ALONE?

    "Unlike our adversaries"....

This is why it's unfruitful to participate in these discussions. When professing Christians start off identifying each other as "adversaries," then the only recourse left is to call each other heretics, and string someone up on the gallows, or burn someone at the stake....

    Your religious piety is noted.

However, I do find it hard to believe that after some 10,000 posts you still refuse to acknowledge the vast and irreconcilable differences between our camp and those of our adversaries; differences which pertain to the very nature of man, the very nature of God, the very nature of salvation, the purpose of God in sending Christ and, finally, the success or failure of Christ’s offices as Mediator and Savior.

Truly, I was quite surprised you still wear braces.
