Trump is behind in the polls. The self-proclaimed billionaire's campaign is bankrupt. He will not work with his party. He insults potential donors. He wastes an opportunity in his comments about a terrorist attack.

I am convinced that he is throwing his campaign.

Well, he's laundering money. He loans the campaign money, then uses that campaign money to purchase things from his companies, then he uses donor money to pay back his loans. He's loaned his campaign about $45 million which he says is going to be converted into a contribution. However, with the FEC filing yesterday that debt is still on the books. It is NOT a contribution from him, it is still a debt. About a month ago he said it would be converted to a contribution "shortly". I suspect he is waiting for the RNC to do some fundraising for him, whereupon he will reimburse himself for his loans. He's got until the moment he is officially named the GOP nominee to pay himself back.

There is a rumor going around that he's going to start TV news network and his first hire is going to be Sean Hannity (this would explain a lot!)

But yeah, he's doing just about everything you could possibly do wrong in a campaign. Throwing the campaign is a possibility as is burning down the GOP. Either of those scenarios, or both, is what is occurring, whether it is intentional or simply incompetence, I don't know.

There was an interesting piece on NPR this morning about this topic. What he is doing is legal. He is no the first politician to use this tactic. However, he is using it to a much greater extent than anyone before him. He will probably end up making a profit from the campaign. Maybe that is what he has been after all along. Heavens knows money is one of his gods.

He is within the margin of error in many polls. Hillary should be much farther ahead.

His campaign has been self funded. I suppose one could say that is bankrupt but it has been that way from the beginning.

Which is why he gets so much support. Again it has been that way from the beginning.

    Subjective at best.

    Most likely wishful thinking.

No, he's not. Stop getting your "news" from DrudgeBart.

Wait until her ad spend is over in the swing states.

He is loaning the campaign money with the intention of paying himself back with money he raises from donors. Twenty percent of the money his campaign spends gets spent on his own companies.

Recent poll by CNN shows that 48% of Republicans want a different candidate other than Trump.

If he's not throwing the campaign he's the most incompetent presidential candidate in history. The Romney campaign raised $76 million in May 2012, Romney raised $48 million by himself; the Trump campaign raised $13 million this May, Trump raised $3.2 million himself.

I can get my news from where I wish thank you. However, your link proves my point.

She is losing in the swing states.

    So??

For the purposes of his own campaign? So???

Stop getting your news from CNN

Thus far he has been pretty successful.

No it doesn't. Here are the leads for Clinton and the margins of error in polls taken in the last week:

    Clinton Lead.......MoE
    +5....................3.5
    +8....................3.7
+2....................2.0 (only poll within margin of error)
    +5....................3.0
    +9....................2.8
    +5....................3.5
    +12..................3.6
    +6....................4.0

    No, she's not.

    Ohio - Tie
    Florida - Clinton +8, MoE 3.1
    Michigan - Clinton +4.0, MoE 4.0
    Pennsylvania - Clinton +1 MoE 3.2
North Carolina - Trump +4.0, MoE 4.0 (poll is a month old)
    Virginia - Clinton +3.0, MoE 3.1
    Wisconsin - Clinton +9.0, MoE 4.9

Plus she's spending millions in these states, whereas Trump only has $1 million in the bank and hasn't bought ads in these states.

So potential donors will be very reluctant to give money to Trump's campaign knowing he's not going to spend it on any campaign activity, but instead pay himself back.

So potential donors will be very reluctant to give money to Trump's campaign knowing he's going to spend it on his own properties, when better deals could be gotten elsewhere. Does the campaign really need to spend $423,000 at Mar-a-Lago club for four meetings?

One thing I noticed in the FEC filings--remember that taco bowl that Trump ate on Cinco de Mayo? He got it from Trump Tower kitchen and I believe it cost $22.

I get my news from a variety of souces; CNN is one of them though they are low on the list.

Yep, that's great when you are running against a dozen other candidates and can stand out from the crowd by getting free publicity by making outrageous statements. But those days are over. The press is not going to cover every little thing he does anymore.

I don't care how much she is spending. It does not impress me or convince me of her ability to win.

Further, the polls are up and down on both sides. In a month what is true now may be different then with regards to polls.

Also, polls have show to be not reliable in the last several elections. Between the two of them I will not vote. If Trump wins I will hope he does the right things. If Hillary wins I know she won't and will pray for her removal.

In the end I do not need to convince myself, nor can anyone else, of who is on top right now.

HuffPost Pollster’s model, which combines all publicly available polling data, currently shows Clinton with an average lead of more than 7 points, with 45 percent to Trump’s 38 percent.

That represents a shift from earlier in the month, when other surveys indicated a much closer race

Hillary Clinton has an 8 point lead over Donald Trump among likely voters in November, according to a new poll out Monday.

Clinton leads by 7 points among registered voters more broadly, according to the new poll from Monmouth University.
The presumptive Democratic nominee leads her GOP counterpart 49% to 41% among likely voters and 47% to 41% among registered voters.

Even Rasmussen has Clinton in the lead.

    Story is dated May 10th.

Clinton leads in Florida: tied in Ohio. Exactly what I posted.

    Story is dated May 10th.

Oh, it matters. She has already bought ad time in the swing states. She will be able to put her message out there no matter what the press does. Trump can't rely on the free publicity anymore.

This is true. However, I would point out that the candidate that can control the dissemination of their message with advertising will have a huge advantage.

    Well, once again we agree.

'The [Trump] campaign's anti-Clinton e-mails are part of a new collaboration with the Republican National Committee, according to spokesman Sean Spicer.'

"Everyday we continue to integrate and work together on all fronts," Spicer said, noting they have daily conference calls on messaging with the campaign. "There's a full integration of the key departments and a unity of effort."

Loaning your own money to your campaign and then paying it back is NOT "money laundering". Do you know what is money laundering?:

    http://www.politico.com/story/2016/06/trump-clinton-laundering-laureate-education-224614
    https://berniesanders.com/press-release/politico-exposes-clinton-campaign-money-laundering-scheme/

Anyways, did you hear any of Trump's speech? Still think he's throwing it?

"Terrible last two weeks" they all bleat but still:

Hillary has a glass jaw, too.

I suspect Hillary's millions will be little more than a waste of money and are headed down the drain as with her supposed leading in the polls.

Washington (CNN)Donald Trump and his joint fundraising committee have raised at least $11 million since Tuesday morning, Republicans said Wednesday, a tremendously quick haul that comes amid concerns about his fundraising ability.
