    I wish God would take me or uncreate me. No psychologist would help. Been there done that. Everything seems empty, pointless, and monotonous.

    It's not worth talking about cos talking about it is always fruitless.

    First, I would remind you that the Bible says there is “no new thing under the sun”. This becomes all too evident when I hear you say, “No psychologist would help”. You see, that very statement was part of a prayer I made 20 years ago.

    In great despair and with nowhere else to turn I prayed to God and said, “My way isn’t working and no psychologist, counselor, preacher or any other person on this earth can help me. God, You are the only One that can help me, I need your guidance in my life and a relationship with You so I can begin doing things Your way, but I don’t know how to even hear You so I can know the right direction.”

    In my heart I had put my only hope in the wisdom of God and His guidance that night and I felt a strange sense of peace and comfort in doing so but I still didn’t know how to hear Him.

    The next day still feeling that unfamiliar strange sense of peace and comfort, I picked up a Bible someone had given me years before and began searching it for any answers. Knowing nothing I turned to the beginning and starting reading Genesis, well, I soon realized I’d heard about the apple thingy before and didn’t see how that was going to help me begin a relationship with Him. So I keep searching.

    I next starting thumbing through and saw “Job”, and I thought, oh, here we go, like I don’t got enough on my hands without another “job” to do to earn my keep and decided to look further. I’m serious, I thought it was going to be about getting a job and believed that was about all I’d heard before from preachers was that I had to straighten up and get a religious job. Haha.

    ...So, I moved on and came across the Book of John, and thought, that sounds like a friendly name and so decided to begin to read there and to my surprise it was talking about the beginning as well. I read the first chapter and suddenly began seeing these Words as God’s letter to me and Him speaking to me and explaining that in a sense of light coming into my life through the Word. I read the first part of that chapter again and again and was brought to tears in the reality that I was recognizing that God was answering my prayers about how to hear Him. BTW, I’d been too tough for tears for many years before that day.

    In amazement and with tears in my eyes I moved on to see what else I might find and right away happened to turn to Mathew 7 which again confirmed that God had heard my prayer and was speaking to me. It said:

    Mat 7:7-8

    (7) Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

    (8) For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

    …and right then I realized I had asked God for the way to hear Him, that perhaps He has guided my hand when I picked up the Bible and began to seek Him, but none-the-less I did seek Him, and He had opened up the door to me to hear Him just as these Words promised!! I saw the truth in these Words, I felt like a fool that I had never turned to them before and had merely gone about trying to do things my way. I cried and cried that day while I felt like God’s hand was on my shoulder guiding me and my love toward Him and my faith in the truth of His Word grew beyond my wildest imagination. In the following days as He worked changes in my life and brought me peace I never thought was possible.

    I tell you this because although the wisdom of this world may be “empty, pointless, and monotonous” I want to remind you that God’s wisdom, given though His Word, is not and there is always hope in Him. Just as He promises in the above scripture.

    God Bless.

    If your life seems pointless, maybe you need to change your life?

    You mean you want an easy life?

    I don't mean to be flippant, but life isn't easy, except a lucky few, and even they often aren't happy.

    The simplest of advice, if your life is pointless, do something with a point.

    Easy things are pointless, or at least not very rewarding.

    Maybe both easy and hard things are equally pointless.

    (ISV) Ecclesiastes 1
    1 The words of the Teacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.

    2 “Utterly pointless,”
    says the Teacher.
    “Absolutely pointless;
    everything is pointless.”

    The Bible agrees with you, everything is pointless... except one thing.

    Perhaps it is a lack of love for the truth, a lack of knowledge and/or understanding of the wisdom, unwillingness to change due to pride, a lack of faith, it’s hard to say. I suppose I’d have to know “why” you find the scriptures burdensome because the first thing that comes to mind is if one has a relationship with someone as loving, wise and truthful as God to say you find His Words burdensome leads me to question your response and having the correct value of those Words.

    Every word seems to become nothing but a theological rabbit trail provoking uncertainty. It seems all gray, neither black or white.

    The Bible tells us that God is not the author of confusion, if you believe His Word is true then what is “provoking uncertainty” implies it is on your part and sounds like a lack of some understanding or perhaps faith. God gives us what we need, He gives us faith in love of the truth, He tells us to search for hidden treasures.

    He tells us to ask, have you asked for understanding? Pray?

    He tells us to be patient.

    He tells us we will have times of trouble but not to worry.

    In fact, He gives answers to your confusion.

    He tells us to receive His Words, and that would be in faith. I love how He instructs us to find understanding leading to knowledge and wisdom:

    Pro 2:1-10

    (1) My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

    (2) So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

    (3) Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

    (4) If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

    (5) Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

    (6) For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

    (7) He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

    (8) He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

    (9) Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

    (10) When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;

    No psychologist would prescribe anti-depressants for you?

    Do you have a pastor or family member you can talk to?

    I would hope that an ethical psychologist, one worth his salt, would not instantly jump to the diagnosis that the issue was due to a lack of permanent mind altering anti-depressant drugs.
    There's a thought...
