Illegal ad for roommate?

    There is no information given that indicates who owns the house/apartment/room for which she is advertising a room mate.

    If it is her house she can have, or not have, anyone she pleases as a room mate.

    If she is renting, the landlord may have a say as to who she is allowed to sublet to.

    If it is a campus dorm the school will have the final say.

    Not enough information for a meaningful answer.

    I agree with the school's president - it's "another example of social media being an ineffective platform for complex dialog on critical issues".

    Was an off-campus apt.
    However, campus President did state that was unacceptable to the college.

    In addition, about 6 years ago, a lady put up an ad on her Church bulletin board. The State dep of Fair housing got wind of it - and sued this lady. (she was looking for a Christian female)

    And finally, had the women in the OP had been white and insisted on only a white, hetorsexual roommate can you image the circus the press would have had?
