I don't recall any Democratic President or candidate in my life time speak so compassionately towards actually helping the black communities. Makes you wonder why they just keep voting for democrats when the democrats have not helped them one iota. Obama has had eight years and has never said one peep about the poor black communities nor has offered any solutions to their problems. Hopefully they will see the light and make a change. If they only realized their opportunity to change their situations by just giving Trump a chance to make good on his word. Obviously after 60 years of empty promises the democrats are not going to help them prosper.

It's worse than that. Obama not only doesn't address their problems, he plays the victim card every time he plays the race card. That's all he knows.

Why can't you Trump supporters connect the dots? You don't spend your entire campaign talking down to folks and then think you can try to be "compassionate" and suddenly it means something.

He's fake. He's polling at less than 2% with Blacks and pretending NOW that he cares about them is simply a waste of time.

He's again saying very loudly what folks in the GOP have whispered for decades. He's appealing to white racists and talking about Blacks to majority white crowds. So what about that speaks of compassion?

It's not like the GOP is trying to help them. I guess they'd rather stick with the party that pretends they are gonna do something vs the party that's made it clear they don't care. I guess they'd rather stick with the party that recognizes the systemic racism vs the party that largely thinks there's no problem.
Interesting. What did Reagan say or do ? How about HW Bush? What about George W Bush?

    What solutions did they offer?

They've seen the light and realize that Trump either a racist or very racially prejudiced and is indicative of a larger group of racists/racially prejudiced folks who have taken over the GOP. Why would they change to that?

You're delusional. After 400+ years of pure foolishness out of racists and the racially prejudiced in this country, you really think Blacks are falling for that song and dance?

Why don't you give the devil a chance to be your god is essentially what you're saying.

You're the one trying to convince us that the racist will do better by Blacks than the Democrats. The premise of your entire thread rest on a strawman.

No that would be your glasses that see every Republican as a racist. As proven in even this lastest post. It's your straw man. And it's a sign of feeling unable to defend a position with good solid facts. Just start calling them racist, straight from the democratic play book. Except this time there is a GOP candidate that dishes it right back and oh boy the dems are beside themselves!

Just the ones who prove that they are.

And again I say your initial post is built on a strawman so don't be upset that it ain't selling.

The fact is that DT is a narcissistic, bigot and a racist. But it's okay because history has played this record before and the folks with good sense will not be swayed into believing again that a person who makes his racism plain has got some sort of compassionate plan in mind for those he has offended. Last time 6 million Jews were exterminated. Save your strawman.

Not sure I can; I was about 10 the last time I worked one of those.

    True; I don't.

What's new as to presidential candidates?

    You been eavesdropping?

You choose hypocrisy over nonpretension, then. Quite expected.

"Win just one more for the Gipper!"

    Neither of them played Gipp.

They sure fall for a lot of song and dance.

She has no such chance with me.

You're consistent with the type of person Trump seems to like. Reading is fundamental.

Please do not include yourself with "us". You do not speak for "us" and no one on this board wants to convince you of anything. Also, you need to learn what a strawman is. You keep using it incorrectly. Just because you do not agree with the op does not mean it is a strawman.

Trump is polling over 20% of black voters in Florida, Hillary is only at 68%, which sounds bad, but she will lose this election if those numbers hold.

The left is screaming loudly about Trump's outreach to blacks, Trump has his hand in their pockets. The black community may be finally realizing that it's time to broker their votes and not check off the D all the way down the board. That is the problem with identity politics, you will be taken for granted and get only empty promises when you go down that road.

Nope. DT is so far behind where Romney was with all other segments that she doesn't have to duplicate Obama numbers.

And you're looking at one poll. The Monmouth poll has her up by 9, Mason DIxon by 2, with a RCP average lead of 2.7 for CLinton.

He's getting less than 2% of the black vote nationally. Speaking down about them to Whites isn't exactly viewed as outreach.

Trump will get a lot more than 2%, Mitt Romney got 6% when he was up against Obama. Only one poll ever said that 2% figure, and that was some ABC poll of "all adults", i.e., garbage.

Monmouth polls are too inaccurate to the point of being dead wrong but an exit poll is usual spot on. Romney got over 20% among young black men in 2012 and Hillary does need his numbers in regard to turnout. Any poll measuring black voters will have a huge MoE and that has to be factored in as well.
