Perhaps because like many on the right, your "we" doesn't think the problem Kapernick is protesting exists?

Or, perhaps because we know that Zaac would prefer to applaud poor behavior rather than address solutions, thereby ensuring dissension and conflict on the message board?

Or perhaps I know that what the lot of you consider poor behavior I consider necessary behavior. He's attempting to lead people to a resolution on that issue by getting them to first acknowledge it. So if you and the rest of those who don't like the fact that he's bringing attention to something that so many don't want to recognize think its poor behavior, big deal.

White folks said the same thing and worse about Muhammad Ali and MLK Jr for their many protests.

You seem to be under the notion that applauding him is wrong. I think it's right. And I might just buy a Kapernick jersey now.

If there is dissension and conflict it's because you obviously think I have to agree with the status quo. I don't, especially when it's wrong.

    Poor behavior indeed.

Poor behavior is cops systemically murdering unarmed folks and getting paid leave.

And save the solution bit. Your words betray you and make it clear that you don't want solutions. You want folks to agree with what you think.

Not standing during the national anthem does nothing to protest the perceived things going on. Instead, it shows dishonor to those who fought and died for the very freedom he's exercising.

If he wants to protest, do it in a way that doesn't spit in the face of those who made it possible to protest. Do it in a way that doesn't further the racial divide. Causing further division isn't a wise way to close a gap. It's like trying to build a bridge with dynamite.

Because the league did nothing, nil, nada, zip about this ... there will be more following his lead in the coming games.

IMHO, that guy is HARDLY oppressed. Send him to Syria or Iran to live and he'll know what oppression is. He wanted a photo OP, IMHO!

During the civil rights protests they carried the flag with pride and honor. The movement to dishonor the flag and therefore by extension the country is a revolutionary tactic. Obama, Hillary, and their ilk are all revolutionaries as is BLM. It is a feigned movement for the purpose of revolutionizing this country into federalizing as much as possible but in this case all local police departments.

49ers fans burn Kaepernick jerseys to the national anthem

Furious San Francisco 49ers fans are burning Colin Kaepernick jerseys after he refused to stand for the national anthem as part of a racial protest.

One fan even played The Star-Spangled Banner as he set light to the Number 7 shirt, watching with his hand on his chest as it was reduced to ash.

‘Shame on You’: Gold Star Mom Unloads on Colin Kaepernick for Refusing to Stand During National Anthem

    .....................
But the unnamed Gold Star mom reminded the football player of other bodies laying in the streets — veterans who have lost their lives in combat.

“I am sitting in my living room looking outside at my American flag — flying at half staff,” she wrote. “You see, my son’s body lay in a street after an [improvised explosive device] blew up the vehicle he was fighting in. His blood stains the sands of Afghanistan. He died protecting the ideals of the flag you refuse to respect.”

“He died so that ungrateful, privileged, and arrogant men like you can be just that — ungrateful, privileged, and arrogant,” she continued. “There are brave men and women all around that stand between evil and you. Men and women willing to die to protect you because they believe in the ideals this country was founded on.”

NFL players blast Kaepernick's decision to sit during national anthem

Former teammate Alex Boone isn’t taking any more hits for embattled San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

The offensive guard suited up for five seasons alongside Kaepernick, blocking as defenders tried to get Kaepernick off his feet. Now, Kaepernick is voluntarily taking a seat, choosing to sit during the playing of The Star-Spangled Banner to protest perceived racial injustice. It may be a good thing that Boone, now with the Minnesota Vikings, is no longer wearing the same jersey as Kaepernick.

“We probably would have had a problem on the sideline,” Boone told ESPN.

Boone’s brother J.J. was a Marine and served in Iraq, making Boone one of several current or former NFL players, many with military connections, to speak out about Kaepernick following his second sitdown before a preseason game on Friday.

“You should have some respect for people who served, especially people that lost their life to protect our freedom," Boone said. “We're out here playing a game, making millions of dollars. People are losing their life, and you don't have the common courtesy to do that. That just drove me nuts.”

I'm not saying that Mr. Kaepernick has no right to speak his mind. He does. But his act drew attention to his own disrespect, not the ideas he was claiming to bring to the surface.

I get the idea that too many people would rather focus on whether or not a person is patriotic than whether or not they have been converted. Not from this site, but from some patriotic sites patriotism is equal to Christianity in too many minds.

Kaepernick may not even make it through this season. For health and performance reasons he may get cut.

He seems to think it does and it has done exactly what he intended which is bring recognition to something he believes to be an issue.

That's your opinion. He apparently thinks standing during the anthem while folks are being denied liberty and justice is also dishonorable.

A lot of folks have proclaimed that folks died for the very freedom he is exercising. But his point is that they died in vain because everybody ain't being afforded that freedom and liberty that some of you like to tout.

??? Those murdering unarmed men are being denied freedom and liberty to all. Are they also spitting in the face of those who made it possible to protest?

Nonetheless, he made it very clear that this has NOTHING to do with the military.

There is something SEVERELY wrong with the lot of you. What do you suggest that black people do? I swear that a lot of white folks are acting like they have lost their minds. Police are running around MURDERING unarmed black people and black and white people who find this wrong are the ones furthering the racial divide? SMH.

    Let's not be delusional.

Causing what further division? The police are still murdering unarmed black people at a crazy clip. If there is a divide then good because apparently there are a lot of white people who care so little about life that they can always find a reason to give police officers a pass when it comes to their murdering black lives.

Enough is enough. And he needs to keep doing what he's doing. And if THAT causes a divide where you weren't already united with him and other black and white folks with good sense against these murderers, then there needs to be a divide.

    :Cautious

I've said for years on THIS board that a lot of folks seem to have confused what God's word says with what the GOP says. How many times have folks in the GOP referred to the President as unPatriotic or unAmerican because he hasn't done things the way that they want?

If he's a Muslim, he's just as lost now as he was when folks were lauding him for being a good "Christian.
