Under which US president were the most native children born, and still alive?

Give your answer and reasons supporting your answer. You might be surprised at the correct answer.

    OK, I'll play.

    My reasons.....hmmmm.

Well, I'll have to go with a Baby Boom president, but then the early BB years have a lot of people already passing. So I'll go with the later BB years and say the early '60's.

So my answer is John F. Kennedy.

But why do I think that the real answer is going to be something crazy! LOL!

I agree with Scarlett your probably talking about the baby boomers so I'm going to guess Truman since he became president at the end of WW2

I don't think it is any of the earlier 'baby boom' presidents because 1) so many of them are not living now, with all the time they've had for fatal illnesses, accidents, and tragedies, and 2) the boomers, so numerous for their time, are so many to have made the next generations more numerous, with less time to die in all those ways possible. Additionally, the Hispanic factor is a big one in this. They have a lot of kids, and the question asks which president they were born under, regardless of where.

So it has to be a recent president, probably one of the last 3.

My guess would be Clinton, Bush (W), or Obama. Although the birth rate is down, the growth of population has caused an increase in the number of babies being born. During the Eisenhower administration the population in 1953, when he was first elected, was 155 million. When he left office in 1961 the population was 179 million. Today the population of the US is roughly 320 million, double what it was in 1953. So, even though the birth rate is down, the number of births, due to double the number of people, has been way up starting with the Clinton administration and continuing through the Obama administration.

As the population grew during the Clinton years, more babies were probably born under the Bush administration than the Clinton administration, due to a larger population, and as Obama has not, as yet, served the entire 8 years which Bush served, I would suspect more babies (by a very small difference) were born during the Bush administration than the other two, so far. Next year at this time the honor will probably go to Obama.

Clue: The person that was president when the most children (still living) were born was a two term president.

I figured it would be a two term president. Then my (tunnel vision) choices were Eisenhower and Nixon. I went with Eisenhower because, you know, baby boomer years.

Just required a little thought. Population has doubled since the Eisenhower administration. Therefore it is logical to assume that the number of births has also doubled. Therefore the most current president who has served a full two terms in office is the most logical candidate.

But, again, that will probably change when President Obama completes his two terms. He will, most likely, pass former President Bush as the "babies born" leader. I am not sure if that will enhance his legacy. :D

The 2nd Bush. With Clinton and Bush the birth rate and immigration rates were close to the same, so less of those alive under Bush have died young, and the longevity of old folks is getting longer all the time. As for Obama, the numbers aren't complete.
