About a year ago I had to give in and use a CPAP. But I'm still fighting the mask issue. Anyone use one, and if so any recommendations on a mask style/brand?

I tried on for 1 solid year. I got less sleep, less rest, and more stress. :(
I woke up in the morning with it still on 4 times.
I tried 4 different masks with no improvement.

2 others in my family are doing well with theirs.
But I'm considering the advice given in Joshua: Destroy the accursed thing.

I am looking for other options.

I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea and got a cpap machine. I used it for about a year but it aggravated my GIRD so badly I had to stop using it (not to mention I just could not get used to the monstrosity covering my face).

I went to my dentist and when he laid me back to work on my teeth he noticed I stopped breathing. I told him the problem and he fitted me with a TAP (Thornton Adjustable Positioner). It works much better than the cpap and it allows me to sleep in any position. No more stopping breathing and no more snoring. I wake up alert and well rested ever morning. I highly recommend them.

I just started using a CPAP about two months ago. I use a FL10 mask and do OK with it. It is a pain but since it can save my life, I'm OK with it.

I just figured out how to "tap" the machine so that I can enter different pressures (I "googled" it :)).

Raising the pressure I find that I sleep well (before I felt like I was trying to breathe through a straw, but when I didn't use it I felt even worse).

I'm still not satisfied with the mask, but I have found that a night without the machine is a bad day afterwards.

At 330# and severe apnea I used a CPAP. Hated leaking masks but got used to it AND to good REM sleep.

In 2010-11 lost 105# and no longer needed it. Did NOT miss it one bit :)
