I have learned that even when we agree with one another we will still find something to argue about.

This thread is a perfect example. :tongue3:

Just because fundamentalist tend to use the whole scripture and not just part of it does not make them bad. They just like the truth for the truth sake.

Agreed, but why can't they share the truth in a noncondescending manner rather than in a manner that literally screams, "I'm right and you're an infidel!" We can earnestly contend for the faith without being confrontational.

I know what you mean, but it seems reformed and fundamentalist do not have the market cornered in those personalities. I think the reformers are trying tho.:type:

    Great Post

I would have to say, like you, there have been numerous lessons, that being on this board, have laid at my feet.

the truth is, I've been humbled more than once, and blessed more times than I can ever count.

So, my time as a board member, has been one of tremendous growth in many, many ways, and your post has served to remind me just how important and precious this board, and many of it's members have meant to me and my life.

Thanks for reminding me how special my two-and-a half years here have been.

    Shalom,

    Pastor Paul:thumbsup:

    Things I've learned here:
    1. There are lots of great Christian folks here that have often encouraged me, befriended me, and who truly care about others. Some I've met in person or talked to by phone, others I would like to meet in person sometime. There are some ladies here who are real sweethearts that I'd LOVE to have in my home and church.

    2. The most "liberal" men on this board know how to treat ladies with respect and kindness even in debate, while a few of the most "conservative" men here act the opposite.

    3. I really respect the pastors on this board. They are full of wisdom and great advice and do not seem threatened if pastor's wives want to post in the pastor's forum. Some of them have a great sense of humor, too.

    4. For the first time in my life, I've met Calvinists that I can actually respect as brothers and sisters in Christ even if I do not agree with their Calvinistic beliefs. Until BB, every Calvinist I ever knew was arrogant, proud, and a pain to be around.

    5. I've learned that people don't always have to agree on every single little detail for them to be friends, Christians, Baptist, or even members of the same church. Being raised IFB, I used to think everyone always had to agree or they were heretics. Now I've learned differently.

    I Have Found that You...

... are one of the most gracious woman of God on this board. Along with Annsni, Windcatcher, and SaggyWoman are pure examples of women who love Jesus, and follow Him in obedience that reflects in your daily walk, deeds, and witness.

Women like you four, are what makes God smile when He looks down upon His creation and see His children emulating His best qualities.

Thanks for you ability to stand in Jesus and maintain a strong and effective witness for the Kingdom. Surely your rewards will be many when judgment is passed down on us!

I've learned from the BB that there are some very knowledgeable and thoughtful fundamentalists out there who can discuss and disagree with grace, gentleness and love. They are the folks I have the most enlightened and memorable discussions with on this board. Unfortunately, their voices often get drowned out by the majority of fundamentalists.

Yes, and this is a great tragedy. Here are people with a very vital faith, but they don't seem to be able to treat other believers or non-believers in love. That message is not usually going to be heard if that's the case.
