Mike Huckabee is 2nd nationally in latest Rasmussen Reports

    In the race for the Republican Presidential Nomination, Rudy Giuliani continues to lead nationwide with 24% support. Surging Mike Huckabee now attracts 15% of Likely Republican Primary Voters nationwide, Fred Thompson earns 14%, John McCain is the top choice for 13% and Mitt Romney remains in double digits at 10%. Ron Paul attracts 5% of Likely Republican Primary voters nationwide and no other Republican candidate reaches 2%

    Since there is no candidate that one can really rally around, the best goal is to ensure the defeat of Giuliani and Romney for the nomination, and worry about who is best later.

    If the Huckabee lovers don't stop with the numerous threads I'm going back to posting numerous threads in favor of Ron Paul.

    I have no problem with Ron Paul, but that does not mean one cannot like both over the likes of Giuliani and Romney.

    Huckabee is no different than Guiliani and Romney. Huckabee may be conservative on social issues but other than that he is a socialist - or as 2 Timothy2:1-4 describes socialists - a communist.

    Yes.........according to your biased interpretation. Considering your liberal thinking on other things you can be sincerely wrong.

    And well, the mere fact that many credible christian leaders had already thrown their support on Mike means he is not what you are thinking of. They i'm sure won't just back him up if he has a very bad governing record.

    That is exactly what such people are doing.

    But, hey, if people want to vote him, fine. They just need to face the reality that, other than on social issues, they are voting for a liberal.

    I trust the opinion's of KenH, my church friends, and my family who all lived in Arkansas during the reign of Mike Huckabee.

    According to them, he is a socialist on fiscal issues.

    And faithcontender, speaking of "Christian leaders", whatever that means, are we also to support Giuliani since Pat Robertson is behind him?

    Pat Robertson has long time lost his credibility as a a christian leader. But with Huckabee, there are past presidents of SBC and other credible christian leaders who are supporting him.

    I don't know about your church friends and your family but i know many christians in Arkansans who are supportive of Mike Huckabee. Plus take note, many Arkansans still a have high view of Mike considering he was re-elected two times and had a favorable exit rating of 55%. So your firends and your family could be among those minority who are dissatisfied with Huckabee for their own reasons. :thumbs:

    The handwriting in the wall is clear. Huckabee is going to win Iowa against Romney. Then hopefully the momentum will go on...

    Go ahead and count your chickens before they hatch. Ask the football experts about what they were saying before West Virginia lost to Pittsburgh last night. :)

    The problem for Huckabee is that the primary calendar is so jammed up that he would have very little time to raise money and get commercials on the air in all of the Super Duper Tuesday states even if he did win the Iowa caucuses.

    Which means almost half didn't have a favorable rating of Huckabee.

    Big Deal! Clinton retained his governorship for 12 years. I doubt Huckabee would have won a third term if it had been possible. Jimmie Lou Fisher( A woman candiate) almost beat him out for governor during Huckabees last re-election 53% to Jimmies' 47% The minority who were disatisfied with Huckabee were becoming the majority in his final term.

    Still that's a majority though. If his governing is really that's bad i would say he will not even get 40% just like with George Bush's 37% today. :thumbs:

    His grassroots movement is already on the go. He is winning Iowa without spending much just like the rest of the candidates.

    His national rating is rising fast closing Giuliani. Thanks to his message and his enthusiastic grass roots supporters.
