Should Americians respect reasonable cultural customs

    The Saudi's have already decided this. The head covering is not required of foreigners.

    Salty, I guess it depends. Other women in powerful positions have visited Saudi Arabia without head coverings.

    Do you remember the uproar in Europe when G. Bush visited and did not take his gloves off while shaking hands with the president of Slovakia. Big snafu in Europe it seems.

    If you are even in Thailand never touch a child's head. That is a huge insult in their culture.

    Different cultures have different ways.
