Wondering what biblical book(s) you are preaching on in recent/future months?

Oct 2013 - June 2014 we did Philippians (36 messages)

Aug 2014 - Dec 2014 we have Malachi (17-18 messages)

Jan 2015 - ?? we are laying out sermon plan for I & II Peter. Probably will cover the entire year.

Looking back from the founding of our church (9 years) we've did

16 messages on theme: Founding a Local Church
    150 message exposition of Romans
    24 message exposition of Joshua
196 message exposition of Matthew (incorporating Life of Christ from all gospels)
24 messages on great texts in Jeremiah
18 or so assorted messages (holidays, special themes, transition)

This month (July 2014) we had a missionary and vacation, so rather than start Malachi we opted to preach a two-message theme on salvation: First "The Plight of Mankind" and Second "Salvation is of the Lord" - and they were very well received.

I am currently not preaching through a book as we are doing a study on why churches die. When I get done I will be going through the book of Genesis with a focus on the Land, seed, and Blessings promises.

Just finished Jonah. Returned to lectionary for now with plans for a series on a biblical response to a transitioning world.

Nehemiah was finished before summer break on Wednesday. Not sure what I'll be doing when we return, though I've got several ideas in the percolator.

Currently working through 1 Corinthians. In chapter 11 right now. It took me 11 months to get this far, so I figure I should be done with the series by January. I'm going to a non-Pauline book next. James.

    This year I've preached:

"What is a Church Member?" (4 sermons, exposition of 3 John)
Series on Being a Missionary (4 sermons, hit and miss from Acts)
"Be in Awe" (6 sermons, exposition of Mark 15-16 for Easter)
"Why Worship?" (2 sermons, exposition of Psalm 117)

And at the end of May, I started "The True Story of Jesus" which is an exposition of Luke. I've preached 9 messages in this series so far and have one more to go to finish chapter 1. So at this rate, it will take 4 1/2 years to preach through Luke. I'm looking forward to it.
