This is an important thing. The largest growth worldwide of the Church is in Pentecostalism. Engagement with them betters the Kingdom of God.

Mixing error with truth does not make for "better(ing) the Kingdom of God."

So what is the agreement on cultural exchange, Baptists start speaking in tongues, and Pentecostals have weekly pot lucks and 300 lb pastors.

Of course, Southern Baptists will have no place at the BWA table.

Here's why, from an article in Christianity Today in 2004:

Is this group in error? They believe in all the gifts of the Spirit, as I do, but they don't interpret them or practice them as the Pentecostals do.

Oh, dear God! The BWA has accepted a group that has been critical of the SBC. How dare they! The Southern Catholic Church must NOT be criticized. That makes the BWA apostate and worse than lepers. They must be avoided and shunned completely!

Interesting! By there statement, would appear to be more in a traditional baptist sense of the holy Spirit...

Tongues A sign, not The sign...

Wonder IF they hold to the sign gifts still in full operation today?

And would they see it as say westylns do the "baptism" as empowering to do sinless living?

Odd then that Miyon Chung, one of the left/liberal BWA's representatives to the OP summit with Pentecostals is also scheduled to speak at The Gospel Coalition's Women's Conference this month alongside Mrs. Albert Mohler, Mrs. John Piper, etc.?

Here's a brief description of the BWA and why the SBC will have no place at the BWA table:

The SBC's decision to separate from the BWA was a terrible decision based solely on politics and personal preference and used threats (you'll be a _____ : liberal, homosexual, blasphemer, egalitarian, etc) and innuendo to get their goal.

I continue to support the BWA. Its a good and necessary alliance, which has flaws, that helps the Kingdom of God in the world.

    Pentecostalism is RIDDLED with error.

Its inordinate obsession with experience, its gross ignorance of biblical theology, its extreme deficiency of emphasis on Scripture and wisdom for direction and doctrine replaced by guidance by feelings and silly experiences (which are not unique to Pentecostals- all kinds of cults and false religions have these experiences)- make them very dangerous.
