    This is getting serious, fast...

This is Obama's first major foreign crisis test.

Let's hope, for all our sakes, he passes this one.

Otherwise, we have a huge problem.

The big problem is that North Korea has the conventional fire power to devastate Seoul at a moment's notice.

Yep, and I am not sure that they would think twice, even though it would mean the utter obliteration of the cesspool they have made of their nation, from the face of the earth.

True statement. And, uncless they change their policy drastically N. Korea has China and Russia in their corner. Both have condemned N. Korea's recent activity, but that is words. We'll see if they back their words with actions.

For instance, China has been letting N. Koreas transports land and refule at Chinese airfield in their flights to and from Iraq and other Mid-Eastern countries.

If China cuts that off it will be meaningful.

To further complicate this issue N Korea is massing troops just north of the DMZ.

I'm no politician, but i think this is going to require ore than a "strongly worded" UN resolution. They apparently don't hear any strongly worded UN resolutions.

We should have took the North Koreans out a long time ago. Nothing will happen. We'll talk tough, impose new "stricter sanctions" while they just laugh, talk about how weak and stupid we are and then continue to test more missiles, bombs, nuclear devices, etc etc. On and on it goes.

I understand your frustration, but that would not be wise. Provoking nuclear holocaust with the Chinese is not a good idea either.

We should have taken them out as far back as MacArthur. This was before China had the nukes.
I know it was a long time ago and we have to deal with now but I think it is just a matter of time (not if but when) that North Korea is going to do something really awful.

We should not be saber-rattling over N.K.. Why do we support the U.N. so much if they can't take care of this situation. Let the Europeans and the mideast deal with them. They are the ones who need to worry. We simply cannot afford to do anything, as we have two wars now, and are preparing for three more. We have probably killed a million of them with our sanctions.

Hey, Biden was right. Within 6 months of Obama taking office, we have a major international provacation.

North Korea has declared the peace treaty signed in the 50's to be null and void. That means, technically, we are already at war with North Korea as we speak.

They have a million man army and Soule S. Korea (capitol city) is within 15 miles of the DMZ.

What would Obama do if North Korea invaded?

I suspect he would withdraw our 50 thousand troops as quickly as possible.

    peace to you:praying:

The North Koreans will sell their nuclear technology or weapons to anyone who wants them.

    Ndever said they didn't.

    Agreed.

    Then they suffer, not us.

Sigh. I thought we may have learned from the Iraq fiasco. It appears we haven't.

North Korea does not pose a threat to us. We don't have any money. We will need to draft our kids to fight.

    That doesn't change anything.
