I doubt he even goes to movies. Me and him or of different generations. Would James MacDonald or Kirk Kameron or Ray Comfort or Todd Friel watch the film? Probably.

The only thing I can think of like that is where, in the first Avengers' movie, Tony Stark calls Thor a "demigod", when talking to Loki.

The problem is that, in the second Thor movie, Odin, played by Anthony Hopkins, makes it clear that they are not gods, that they only appear as gods because of their advanced technology, and that they do die as mortals (albeit, not for a few thousand years).

Then why did you start this thread? Were you looking for a pat on the back for seeing it? Were you looking for someone to sooth your conscious? You spend the first page pointing out everything you saw wrong with the movie and now you say this. What are you trying to accomplish?

Natasha in the avengers film says these guys are basically gods. Captain America replies and says there is only one God mam.

Thor 2. Perhaps I missed that line.

That does not seem very agreeable and encouraging.

I will spare Evan the effort:

I love it. Of course Rabbits are actually very sentimental to me.

 Now that you mention it, no. And he does have interesting observations on the topic. MacArthur opposes “fantasy” entertainment to an extent because rather than presenting reality it is “about escaping from reality.” He explains that “as Christians, our worldview must be grounded in reality, not the imaginary worlds of Hollywood.” People distract themselves with fantasy (here he is speaking of keeping things in perspective and not necessarily against entertainment). In other places he has stated that the dangers of people living in fantasy worlds (and his disdain for fantasy) . As I drive downtown and see people with transformer tattoos and emblems on their cars….or more pointedly, realize that the majority of gaming systems today target adults….I think MacArthur has a point. Nevertheless…tomorrow I’m headed to see the new Avenger’s movie.

Ahhh...Rolf. BlessedWife has never gotten a rabbit from Evan. Perhaps she might have gotten one from the master, but you beat him to it. The drought continues...

Oh I would agree with you on this one. If someone is so obsessed to have all that stuff we have a problem. I find no harm in watching the film, but if it controls then it needs to be put to death. Remember what Jesus said about putting to death things that cause sin.

After watching the movie a second time there is a theme I missed and that is of occultism featured as good which is impossible. In the film there is a female witch whom at first is bad but turns good. This teaches people that witches are good and playing with the occult is okay. So for that I will not buy the film.

    Wow. Totally missed the point.

If you'll recall, she had a brother who ran really fast. He also was bad, but turned good. So I guess we should conclude that running is something we should avoid?

She doesn't practice witchcraft; they said more than once that her powers were mind-based.

The theme, my friend, is that people can turn away from their "bad paths." In fact, this group of heroes gave them every opportunity to become "good guys", rather than condemn them.

And the comments about gods? Those are a "lead-in" to the next set of movies, where they explore the concept of people who have great power, the perception of "common people" about those who have great power, and what each side might do in those circumstances--for instance, requiring all "super-powered" people to be registered.

I'm ok with that. I figure going straight to ignore has its own distinction. :)

Who would have thunk it. This housewife from Arizona would outpace experienced pastors in this respect.
