Then what was it that God preserved?

Exactly. The promises of the English bible are inspired promises, the history of the English bible is inspired history, and the prophecy of the English bible is inspired prophecy.

and ANY English version off them can be regarded and seen as being authoritative and infallible!

Exactly. Inspired (derivatively). Inerrant (derivatively). Infallible (derivatively).

It is well known and accepted by even most conservatives that there are SOME minor mistakes in greek/hebrew text used, mainly in numbers and additions by scribes that were added in over time!

And just how do we know these are errors and not as originally given? What do we compare the reading to so that we can come to such a unequivocal determination?

and IF one held that the KJV is the word of God to us for today, so would be the ESV/NASB/NIV etc!

Have I ever said otherwise?

I see you have a reading comprehension problem. I will try to type slower.

Now pay close attention and I will explain it to you.
"Fundamental churches" = IFB
"King James Only" = KJVO
Got it now?

TCassidy,
You are a very mean spirited and hateful person. If I were you I would read Galation 5:22 (in what ever version you want). I think you will see that you might want to re examine your salvation.

Paul was used by God a lot. He was certainly a very educated man.

Sorry, Milly, but my salvation is eternally secure in Christ. And the fact that I answered your snarky posts does not make me mean spirited or hateful. It makes me just what God called and gifted me to be. A pastor/teacher, apt to teach, and determined to expel ignorance where ever found, including on the Baptist Board.

And where in the Bible is the example you are basing your calling on? I don't recall Jesus calling people ignorant because they didn't know a certain word or phrase anywhere. Of course I could easily be wrong as I am obviously not even close to being in your league of intelligence
Its easy to post anonymously on the internet isn't it? When one does that he really shows what he is in his heart. You may have fooled your congregation(s) over the years as a good caring Christian and counselor, but your true colors have really come through on this thread.
Is this how you taught. Student: "Uh professor/pastor I don't know what you mean by that big word you are using". Professor TCassidey: "you ignorant fool! God has called me to expel ignorance wherever found".
Sound really silly doesn't it?
You might want to read Matthew 7:21

TCassidy,
Here are some more verses you should review
2 Corinthians 11:13-15
"For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works"
and
Proverbs 3:7
"Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil"
