What good was the tree of life to anyone, after the fall ?

The wages of sin is death. Not sure why some are getting hung up on this. Salvation didn't work for Adam, the way it works for us.

I did not say anything contradictory to that. You might want to go and study that passage.

Maybe you should read something before posting. Your initial comment didn't even address my question/comment.

It's good he's not bound by your understanding that he created via evolution or your desire for such to be so.

Yes it did. You need to study that passage before trying to talk about it.

From what I can tell you're still trying to apply a literal interpretation to a piece of scripture that was never literal to begin with. I can understand seeing a modern meaning in an ancient text, as I don't mind spiritualized reading of the scripture (even though I've been told I was wrong). But I cannot see how anyone can look at something that was admitted to being part of a dream and still say that it proves the Bible never admitted a round world.

You've been given the evidence, and you've ignored it.

I'll hand it to you on this one, you made pretty good contact in swinging to change the subject.

No, I was showing another person who wanted to split one verse, part literal and part not literal. I do not believe the passage can be taken literally.

No grey areas here....eater God created it or we just evolved by chance....at least be honest and not marry the two.

Thanks for clearing that up JK. Because everything in life and existence is simply as digital as you suggest.

Digits: Psalm 33:6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

Not true. God created and then guided his creation [evolution] It is not an either or situation. God did not create a binary 0 or 1 universe.

Yet God told us one thing and did another? Death existed before man but then death entered by man's sin? Jesus said that there was a historic Adam so was this one creature that God finally said "YES! That's the one I want to make the first of the humans!" Why that one creature when there had to have been at least thousands of the same? How did the others experience death if they were not descendants of Adam?

I'm sorry but there are just too many things that don't fit together and you just can't marry the Bible and evolution unless you say that the Bible is not true.

    1. If Jesus had said that Adam was not a historic person he would have been laughed out of the synagogue or wherever he was speaking and we would never have heard of him.

    2. When death did or did not come into the world has nothing to do with how the world was created.

    3. When it says "death entered the world," does it mean death entered the world of Adam only?

    4. Did death exist for animals prior to Adam?

    5. Was Adam a vegetarian prior to sinning?

    6. None of this really has anything to do with how God created the universe, earth or mankind.

He doesn't really believe most of the Bible is true anyway

Oh, Rev., the truth is in the Bible, but you do not seek it as you are convinced that you are infallible. Thus you will remain fast in your mistaken interpretations of so much. Rather sad.

So He then lied so as to not be laughed at????????????

It actually does. Evolution = death before man. Creation = death after man and as a result of man. Big difference.

Entered the world is pretty clear. We even see the first death of an animal by God creating clothing to cover man after he sinned. We know creation groans for the coming of Christ and I don't think that isn't a result of sin.

According to scripture, all mankind were vegetarians until after the flood when God now gave animals to man for food.

Actually, since it's in the Bible, it kind of does. I don't like to disregard what God clearly has stated.

Jesus did not say these words. They were Paul's words.

Not really. As you say we see death of an animal for clothing. Thus death was possible and there before man, else the animals could not have died.

Interesting and I am not arguing. Can you give me scripture on that. I do know that the design of human teeth are not meat eating teeth.

In addition to the problem in creative evolution of the entrance of death into the world:

There is the "fact" of evolution that human life evolved from the sea in direct opposition of the scripture that Adam was made from the ground.

Also, all the way up and through my college education, matter was defined as that which occupies space and has mass.

The Big Bang requires a pre-existant entity which has an elusive definition - The Singularity.

    John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Including the "space" (presumably the infinite expanse of outer space) in which to put the matter (stars, planets, etc).

Also when Jesus made the wine at the wedding in Cana it had the appearance of age (a microcosm of the universe?).

You know, it takes time to grow the grapes, harvest the grapes, squeeze the grapes, ferment the wine, market the wine, etc... yet the wine was made instantly.

Being "the best" wine requires the mellowness of a long aging process yet there was none.
