:sleep:There is no weeping allowed at this memorial service, They are in a "better place" of my mind. Recently a beloved (by the mother) member of this forum died the metaphorical death during a recent thread.

The death occurred after multiple "attempts to derail my thread via personal attack instead of addressing the topic " .

Burial was the first in the newly consturcted, several acre lot.

That's why I don't eat BBQ when I'm in Alabama.

I didn't know the Whistle Stop was a real restaurant. I'm in Tennessee...perhaps a drive is in order.

    The "original Whistle Stop"

Country fried steak and some fried green tomatoes are calling me. T Alan can have the stewed okra. Maybe it would cover the taste of them collards.

Stewed maters and Fried Okre is how we roll. Yeah, fried Green Maters but none of it can match "Neck bone boiled in Collards" . I just had a BBQ made with the neckbone meat, Leave you wanting more. ummmm

Beef heart stew made it to the family table this evening. I called it Lub-Dub stew. My middle son's girl was over for dinner and I didn't want her to pass on a good hearty stew. She had seconds. She and the boy were doing dishes after supper and he told her what was in the stew.

Last I saw of the girl she was heading for the porcelain telephone calling for Ralph and Earl to bring the Buick. I guess I won't have to share the pan fried chicken gizzards tomorrow.

I think I'd choose to dine with T Allen. Collards and okra is up my alley...beef hearts not so much.

Just wrong to tell em afterwards what the delicacy was. Never reveal it. Wait till they ask for it next time then, after the second time, it's okay.
