"House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) has annoyed the White House by inviting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a vocal supporter of new sanctions (and worse) against Iran, to address a joint session of Congress about threats from Iran and radical Islam. Well, according to Bloomberg's Josh Rogin and Eli Lake, the Obama administration and U.S. intelligence community aren't the only ones that opposes new sanctions during ongoing nuclear talks: So does the Mossad, Israel's own intelligence service.

Netanyahu and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) support a bill sponsored by Sens. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) and Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) that would ramp up sanctions against Iran if it doesn't reach a deal with the U.S. and other world powers by a June 30 deadline. Mossad leaders have "broken ranks" with Netanyahu, Rogin and Lake report, and "have been briefing both Obama administration officials and visiting U.S. senators about their concerns on the Kirk-Menendez bill." Their concern that sanction threats would sink the nuclear talks has caught the attention of lawmakers, including Menendez, who demanded clarification from Israel's ambassador to the U.S. —Peter Weber..."

Report: Mossad undercuts Netanyahu, warns US Congress against more Iran sanctions

"Israeli intelligence officials have apparently come around to the same view shared by both the Obama administration as well as American spy agencies.

Israel’s political leadership is in disagreement with top members of its intelligence services over the benefit of more Congressional sanctions on Iran as negotiations over its disputed nuclear program continue, Bloomberg News is reporting on Thursday.

The rift is so severe that it compelled the Mossad to contradict Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and directly warn US Congressional officials that more sanctions against the Islamic Republic at this juncture could effectively spell the end of negotiations, according to Bloomberg.

Israeli intelligence officials have apparently come around to the same view shared by both the Obama administration as well as American spy agencies who say that any attempts by lawmakers to pass tougher anti-Iran legislation could chase Tehran from the negotiating table...."

The Democrats are saying that sanctions would take 6 months to install completely but that Iran could be underway in 3 months.

Personally, I think that Boehner/McConnell want to distract from their betrayal of their base on immigration by this foreign policy stuff, which is unprecedented for a Speaker to invite a foreign leader without White House knowledge.

Also, personally I think that the Saudis, who are pumping oil like crazy in order to crash Iran's economy, want something done to stop Iran from getting the atomic bomb.

Do you think that Israel will attack Iran?

Obama is doing what the Bush administration arrogantly scoffed at over a decade ago. I'm not convinced Iran is intent on acquiring 'the atomic bomb', and I'm definitely not going to listen to Netanyahu's whopper lies on the subject, and I think even his own people realize just what a liar he is and are not anxious to attack Iran. This whole thing is ultimately about maintaining the current balance of power more than protecting Israel from annihilation.

Who knows what the mad dog might do.

Make no mistake about it, Iran will attack the Saudis and that is the Saudis' sole reason for pumping oil like crazy these days. It is collateral damage with the Saudis that US fracking is damaged, that Russia is slowed militarily by money, and that Venezuela is hurt badly as well as Cuba (the reason for Obama's gesture towards Cuba).

But most of all, Iran wants to attack the USA with an atomic bomb. The Iranians have already said that they will drop one on Jerusalem and then Paris.

With our wide open borders, thanks to McConnell/Boehner/USChamberofCommerce and the weak-as-water Democrats, Iran could easily smuggle a suitcase atomic bomb into the USA.

What's your source? Citation please. Don't just lob gobs of neocon fear mongering.

Yea, it'd be a whole lot easier to dock a freighter in a U.S. harbor and detonate a truck sized atomic bomb in a shipping container than to build one that can be carried.

Source? These are all old news stories. Why do you think that the Saudis are pumping oil if not to hurt Iran? The Saudis have all that wealth and Mecca and they are Sunni and Iran is Shiite. Please, this is common knowledge. Iran is Persian and Saudis are Arabs.

As for the Iranian threats to Jerusalem and Paris, they are also boilerplate for years in the mosques of Iran. Please. Haven't you heard of little satan and big satan?

Saudis Tell Shale Industry It Will Break Them, Plans to Keep Pumping Even at $20 a Barrel

"The Saudis plan to keep pumping until the US shale industry cries uncle. That means lower oil prices for longer and a smaller rebound."

...but the real immediate threat from ISIS is likely to force the Saudis to cooperate and be nicer to the U.S..

Ok. So? What? They're old rivals; the Saudis are more concerned with Iran's potential to become an economic powerhouse than they are Iran attacking them. I predict if Iran becomes nuclear weaponized, so will the Saudis.

Yea, there's quacks everywhere, the U.S. has more than their share of them; some even post here on the BB.

Haven't you heard that there's a significant moderate element within Iran that wants to come in out of the cold and cooperate with the West, for their own good?

Evidently, and I speak from experience CMG believes allegations made by neocon fear mongers are proof enough.

Anyone that doesn't think the Iranians are intending to build nuclear weapons is an idiot. Or worse.

The pandering to Iran at the highest levels of government is treasonous and just another indicator of Obama's islamic sympathies.

    Ouch! That hurt.

Classic CMG. Ask him to back up his allegations with proof get associated with the "devil" instead.

This must be the neo conservative equivalent of calling your opponent a racist.

You sound like war mongering right wingnut.

The diplomacy needs to be given a chance to work. It is, beyond any doubt, the best course to follow right now. Even Mossad recognizes that fact.

...and I see the quacks have arrived.

kyredneck, I reckon this means we're not going to see any of those citations you asked for. CMG is to busy playing the victim to look for them.

It's cool Carpro you can call me an idiot all you want just don't associate me with the "devil".

Thanks for the kind words from you! You are the nicest person!

Supposing that Iran gets the atomic bomb shortly and drops it on Israel and kills all the Jews in Israel, do you think that that will end Islamic terrorism?

Well Israel is about the size of Rhode Island right in the middle of the Arab world. Supposing Iran murders all of the Jews in Israel with an atomic bomb, what would the Arabs have left to fight about?

I don't know where Scripture says that exactly, do you?

So do you think that the presence of a Jewish state in the Middle East (Orient) since 1948 is the root cause of Iran's attempt to get an atomic bomb?
