Oh wow. So you think that somehow your skin color gives you some sort of violent gene? I feel like this board is straight out of the 1950's sometimes. I know science is scary but goodness gracious people.

No, it doesn't speak to actions at all. Show me the data where it breaks it down to those shot while resisting arrest and those being peaceful. Then, if the data plays out, you can make that statement...not before.

Crime statistics tell us blacks commit far more violent crimes than their percentage of the population warrants.

I haven't seen anybody attempt to explain it. Maybe you can.

aaaand now I'm supposed to believe that "black culture" has curbed the market on violence. Got it.

The police defense will always be they felt threatened knowing that dead men/women do not talk. They will always say they were following proper procedures, knowing that dead men/women do not talk.

It does take your breath away, doesn't it? And then in the next sentence they'll give their testimony for Christ. That's supposed to make people want to become Christians?

If you don't believe that black culture promotes violence, then you live in a fantasy land.

And it's not just black culture. The Hispanic culture in the US promotes violence as well.

And guess what, we can see a direct correlation in the disproportionate percentage of blacks and hispanics that commit violent crimes.

Prison stats bear your premise out. Obama has two years left to organize and bring change to the inner-city black youth...tic-toc!

The same can be said for liars that state people are talking about genes. What does it say about one's testimony for Christ when they lie?

To ignore the correlation would be a mistake. It definitely has a bearing. It's just not quantified anywhere that I have seen.

Most people that are shot by the cops are armed or have placed the officer in fear of his life by one means or another.

Most are criminals of one type or another.

Color doesn't matter when a cop is faced by a person who intends to do them bodily harm of kill them ...until after they are dead. As we all have seen.

Nobody is lying genius. You are directly inferring that black people are more violence prone. I wonder if you would like to dig further into the metrics. Maybe try something crazy like looking at a few more social factors such as poverty level, location, age, educational resources, racism, maybe the historical reason for how urban environments came to be. If you are really feeling adventurous you might be able to tie them altogether and realize that they have only been "integrated" into our society for about 50 years. It just might be possible that the last 50 years or so haven't exactly been a downhill stroll for black people.

Lot of that going on by a couple of people here.

They continually put their own spin on the comments of others and then restate it as if that's what was really said. It's just another way to lie.

They talk a good game, but Christ has nothing to do with the reason they are here.

I never said that things like education, culture, lack of local role models, etc were not a driving factor in the culture of violence the black and hispanic communities suffer from.

Just because I state that black people are involved in violent crime at a higher rate than white people does not mean I think it is in their genes. Black people are people, just like white people. They have the same abilities and potential as anyone else. As I've stated, their culture is what drags them down. A culture of violence.

    Agreed.

    Agreed again.

This is where the difference might come in. A cop (or cops) is encountering a violent suspect. Does he reach for his taser or his revolver? Do they shoot the guy with the baseball bat (tire iron, beer bottle) or do they subdue him? Maybe the black guys get shot more often than the white guys? You have to at least allow for the possibility.

Culture where though? It isn't some blanket thing you can just paint an entire race with. The black culture where I live is nothing of the sort you apparantly deal with or are referring to.

Possibility, yes. But I believe they have to be be taken on a case by case basis. No blanket statement can be made with any degree of certainty.

But, we don't hear about the ones they tase or subdue, just the ones they kill. We have no idea what the numbers might be.

Sure...you don't have any of the black thug culture around VA Beach. What about beach week each year when your city is invaded by thugs and violence shoots through the roof?
