    Yes, those that wrote their beliefs (confessions) thought each and every assertion of doctrine was reflecting the teachings of scripture. But not all people think they hit the mark with every assertion.

    Yes, Smyth's first 6 points pretty much hit the mark except for #5. Thus sermon's asserting those points would pretty much hit the mark except for #5.

    I think these guys have one of the best lists of baptist confessions and catechisms on the internet

    Reformed Reader - Historic Baptist Documents

    Some of their articles may be questionable but their list of documents is top notch.
