Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was reportedly told by an NFL uniform inspector not to wear his “Know Jesus, Know Peace” t-shirt before Sunday’s postgame press conference.

Michael Phillips, the Redskins reporter for the Richmond Times-Dispatch, posted on Twitter that Griffin was told he couldn’t wear the t-shirt because it wasn’t a Nike product.

CSN Washington reports that Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan wore a t-shirt from Five Four Clothing to the podium for the postgame press conference and was not asked to change his shirt

More hypocrisy from the NFL. More selective enforcement of their rules and regulations.

    Also from the CBS article...

"...players are prohibited from wearing, displaying, or otherwise conveying personal messages either in writing or illustration, unless such message has been approved in advance by the League office.”

So yes, seems like selective enforcement as it relates to Nike, but the above is one of the rules as well. So if this is the rule, then I believe Robert did the right thing by turning it inside out to conform to the rules.

Little known fact... when Baylor University opened its new stadium a few weeks ago (in its win over SMU) where former President George W. Bush flipped the pregame coin, it was RG3 who gave the invocation before the game. Not sure how much this was publicized. Solid guy. Wish he could stay healthy.
