Are women not forbidden to teach men in the bible? Then why does she do it?
Or does she only speak before women?

I think that her messages are more or less motivational messages. It's like a motivational speaker for christians.

I am not a fan of any TV preacher. As they go, though, nothing wrong with Meyer as far as being a preacher goes. Times and cultures change, you know.

I would argue that reading Scripture in its context (both its own and the context of history) would show that it is actually a pretty radically feminist document.

For example, women were, culturally speaking, barely more valuable than a table; the clear message of Scripture values all humans, and especially women. Paul mentions women in the context of church leadership as well.

I cannot imagine having a female pastor. Somehow I couldn't take her seriously.
It's simply different with men. Men have more authority. But it also depends on how they look. A long, grey beard for example also adds extra authority.

I work for a woman pastor.

Long beards aren't a symbol of authority, imho. The Holy Spirit's call on a person's life grants the authority, and women can do as well (sometimes better) than men.

For example, I've worked with male pasors for almost ten years, and the female pastor I work for now is one of the best preachers I have ever heard. Her authority is the Word.

First clue about why she should be ignored at best is well, if she had any use for the word then she wouldn't be doing what she is doing.

Second she is just another word faith.

Third she is in it for the money rather blatantly, 3.5 million dollar home provided by her "ministry". She sits as the chair of the financial board of her "ministry"

Last I heard the IRS was investigating her.

All I can say is Joyce who????

Afraid I don't know half the names that pop up here. Try Aimee McPherson Temple! Or even Madam Blavatsky!

    Cheers,

    Jim

She has a voice almost like a man.

This is really interesting because she belongs to a special kind of women which have so strange voices. These women also seem to have a certain type of character. I have come across such women a few times and somehow they are all pretty similar. They have less female characteristics. Somehow that's scary...

    I agree . . .

I am curious though, is she really preaching to me. I was under the impression that her primary audience was women.

The few things I know about Joyce is she preaches what she knows and has overcome in those areas that she preaches on. Jesus said go into all the world and preach the gospel and she is doing that. She also preaches on submission and authority. I don't know maybe in church she might stay quite but in her "confrences" she preaches the gospel as well as any person of the male gender preacher I have ever heard! (sometimes shes better than any I have ever listend to)

She proves she either knows nothing about the bible, or disreguards what she doesn't want to accept as true because she is an ordained preacher, to women or men, it doesn't matter, she sees no difference. This si basic scripture, plain nothing to figure out and she doesn't understand it.

No I believe she does pretty good about exsplaing it. But to each his (or her) own.

Where does it say that women can't preach.

You know I bet if I looked hard enough I might be able to find some of those links for just about every preacher in the public eye. LOL

Where does it say in Gods word that a woman shouldn't preach?

Joyce Meyer is an ordained minister who pastors a church, simple scriptural understanding tells you this is wrong.1 Tim.2: 12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence

    Preach

    κηρύσσω
    kērussō
    kay-roos'-so
Of uncertain affinity; to herald (as a public crier), especially divine truth (the gospel): - preach (-er), proclaim, publish.

Mark 16:15 And he (Jesus) said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Can you provide this information because I couldn't find the church she pastors.

This is another perfect example once again.

    The bible says:

Tim.2: 12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence

But once again there are christians which simply say: Nah, this has a totally different meaning.

    Great. :BangHead:
What meaning does it really have?
It's like this with everything. There are always people which simply say that it doesn't mean this. And in the end you don't even know what to think anymore. :tear:
