Is it important as to how many posts you have?

The number used to matter to me, but not any more. Once it got to a point, I ignored it as it shows me how much time I spend on here...

I think having a large number of posts lends credibility. It doesn't mean that people will agree with you, but most of the time they won't think you're a spammer or a drive-by poster.

You're right on the point of it showing that they are not a drive by poster.... A person though can spam the board and still be an active member.

Just the other day I had a user bring up the fact that he had X number of posts, and I had Y number. To me, it didn't change the point of my post in that thread, but it did show that he thought he was "better" because he had been around longer...

To me, the post count is nothing more than showing how long you stay on the BB. They don't offer any more or less credibility in my opinion. Someone with 100 post can have a great idea just as much as someone with 10,000 posts.

I voted no, it doesn't matter to me.

I could care less, and I also think that too much emphasis is placed on it, as it tends to make some, feel that just because they have been around longer, it puts them above others. It becomes a stigma, and for many pushes them higher in the hierarcy.

The quality of my posts far supercedes the quantity of my posts.

PS, I heard DR Bob will make the purchase - something about the "transporation fund" in his church budget:laugh:

Number of posts doesn't matter to me, although I do notice everyone's total.

I read a lot more than I post. For which each of you should be eternally grateful.

They mattered to me when I was new because I didn't want to be the 'new kid on the block', but I no longer pay any attention to them.

What is the opposite of 'new kid on the block'?

    Old granny on the block!

Ed's definition of 'girl' -- a female person younger than Ed.

To Sister I Am Blessed 17:

    You GO girl!

    You GLOW girl!

What matters in your case is the coveted tag "Administrator."

Post numbers have nothing to do with being an Administrator and I did not 'covet' it.

No one was more surprised than I when asked to accept this position...

I tend to judge others posts by how many posts they have. If someone such as Ed Edwards has 13,000+ posts I tend to think he is full of --- --- Baptist wisdom. But then he posts something completely off the wall and then I think, wow Baptist wisdom can sure be nutty. Then I see that Iamblessed17 has 40,000+ posts I think that Ed still needs to mature quite a lot. So I'll hold onto my 1000 posts and just try to figure Ed out.

    Just razzing you Ed. :type:

The # only matters when I'm looking at someone else, as in when they display their ignorance on an issue, something like that. If it is someone who has been around a while, 250+ posts, I might really let them have it. If they are newer, I try to feel them out as far as what they can give and take.
My post # is higher because I've spent some time in the games forum. This is a better use of my time, frankly, than much of what is discussed in other forums!
Seriously, though, much of the reason to be here (for me) is to wind down or just plain r&r for a few minutes...

Hey it did me too. But then I noticed that Ed had 13,000+ posts and they do not know what to call him.
