I agree, I showed it Sunday night as a final illustration to my sermon.
Our youth group started working on it this evening.
They will be performing it in May, and again this summer for youth camp.

There is SO much meaning in it.

Saw the video. Very disappointing that many are deceived into belieiving that was gospel, or even belonged in a Church service.

If the Church I am a member of ever stooped to showing strobe lights and sensual dancing such as was in that video, I would find a different Church.

I don't have time tonight to view it but:

I might actually agree with SFIC for a change!
Not sure we would come to the same conclusion from the same direction but at any rate, I am opposed to drama in church since I hold to the regulative principle.

I will hold off a dogmatic opinion until I view it.

Ok watched it. Would not stay in a church that did that as a part of a worship service.
I could not hear the audio because something is messed up on my laptop but I MIGHT not think it was totally inappropriate at all times, but certainly not for worship in Church.

If they did that in my church I think I would have to take my family and walk out.
BUt then I would not attend a Christmas play at church either so you have to understand where I am coming from.

Sensual dancing? OH brother! It is plain to see we will never agree.. so there is no use even trying.

It kinda reminds me of the song by Big Daddy Weave.. Fields of Grace... "Dancing with my father God in the fields of Grace"

I can't wait to dance with my creator!!!
I thank God he took upon himself the evil of this world to allow me to be who he created me to be.
I am grateful that one day he will destroy all evil.. .and I can go off arm in arm with him in eternity...

Our church loved the video... Our youth will be doing the skit for our 125th anniversary service... If you can't see the symbolism of the Gospel in it, I am not even going to try to explain it to you...

We will have to agree to disagree...

    Excellent drama!

Anybody that would remove their family from my church because of this drama would not be someone I would want attending my church. It's amazing that Christians will see evil in anything...
    Sensual dancing...give me a break!

I agree this is a powerful video. Obviously from the audience applause, they got the 'message'.

The 'moral' of the story is that it's easy to be seduced unless we cling to God; our Lord wants to have deep and loving relationship with us and wants to protect us from temptation and keep us by His side. Since this is the reason that Jesus died for us, what in the world is sensual or sensuous about that?? All this is, is a sermon in drama format. Why is this inappropriate for church?

We've done this skit - and others and I think it's an awesome way to communicate the truth of God to others. Some people are visual learners - seeing it makes an impact whereas hearing it or reading it doesn't work as well.

Just as we can now use the printed word, video, podcasts, etc., drama is a way to tell others of God's love for them - or other Biblical messages.

I was OK with someone saying, "didn't care for it." I could even stomach "I wouldn't want that in my church." But "sensual dancing?" Good gracious. Next thing you know, he'll claim there was nudity and cannibalism.

I think some people start their arguments long before they view the facts.

(BTW...my opinion: There are some settings I would use this; others, i Might not. I know my audience well enough go know the difference). I thought it was well done, and had a good message).

Where was the gospel preached? There are those of the world who do not know Christ who will stop someone from shooting themself.

These people did not present the gospel. They presented a dance number where some good act was shown.

Those that think the gospel was presented in the video have a broad brushed view of what the gospel is.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The gospel isn't preached in nature, either....yet God uses nature to remind man that He is there.

The goal of that production and others like it: to get people thinking about God. To get them interested--get them asking questions.

Think of the role art can play. Can a painting encapsulate the entire gospel? No....but it can make me curious about the role God wishes to play in my life.

I don't advocate this kind of human video as a "stand-alone"--but when it is coupled with a presentation fo the Gospel, it is indeed powerful.

we wouldn't do this in my church either, but I didn't see anything 'sensual' in the dancing. I actually got the message right away.....and I'm very conservative. :)

It was showing her drift farther away from God and the reason for it, as I saw it. The first was, for lack of a better word so that the google ads don't kick in was "love", then came money, drugs or booze, then self image, then in the end self mutilation and finaly the gun. satan was behind them all. If you looked you could see God tugging on the rope to bring her back. Then finally God holding them off and getting his child back. Where was the sensual dancing? It might not have been done during the service, who knows when they did it. It could have been a night of youth skits. As stated earlier, they probably hand out lemons at some churches. If this didn't move you, you are immoveable. I'm a grown man and was tearing up.

I didn't get the point right away but I did eventually.
My problem with it is not that it is "sensual" dancing but that it was not the biblical way of proclaiming the gospel.
Not to mention the gospel was not really even proclaimed.
I had to watch it through twice before I even "got it"

    This is funny.

I agree it is a good drama, it has been around for at least 20 years...every few years or so different music gets added to it. I think I've performed it nearly 100 times when I was in my youth group...mainly in Brazil. Our version wasn't really dancing...but was essentially the same thing.

I think I've been every character in it too.....except the temptress, of course!

It's a shame you struggle with dancing in a service, specifically when used in a drama.

Don't be so uptight about lighting....your preference is no strobe lights...got it. Don't be so judgmental about those who prefer it.

I've seen hundreds connect with a message they've never heard before because they actually saw it illustrated (not perfectly...but illustrated nonetheless) as a result of this drama.
