President Bush made some mistakes. One mistake he made was thinking he could work with democrats in DC like he did in Texas but they are a totally different breed. He should have known better since they shafted his Dad. He was perhaps too loyal to those who worked for him. Some, like his chubby former press secretary, did not repay in kind. Also he was continuously betrayed by some in the CIA who leaked national secrets to the NY Times.

I suppose the Presidents biggest mistake was not responding to all the lies the leftist media and the leftist democrats in Congress told about him. If a lie is told often enough without refutation then people will begin to believe it. Bush also took an unfair hit over Katrina. This country is still a Federal Republic and the Federal Government cannot ride roughshod over state officials as they almost had to do over the democrat governor of Louisana and mayor of New Orleans. For those doubters just contrast the responses of Mississippi and Louisana to the hurricane.

One thing that is most important and which most people have forgotten is that this country has not had a terrorist attack since 9/11.

I don't want to criticize Bush because he did try his best. I don't however feel you pointed out his biggest mistake.

Again, Bush did the best he could to secure the nation from evil. I don't understand how people who push the constitution when the government want to defend us from economic destruction but act like it's constitutional to listen to our phone calls etc... But hey, he did something so I would be a hypocrite if I didn't at least appreciate his effort.

Great video, I would like to see it with scenes from WTC on 9/11. I don't forget how assuring of a figure he was when our nation was in total turnoil.

I don't agree with his decision to let Ben Laden's family leave the country when all flights were grounded but I am sure there were political motives we'll never know about.

I enjoyed the music and the sentiment.
I didn't have to agree with President Bush on everything to like him..... and I did like him. I will miss him.

His greatest achievement was the nomination and confirmation of two conservative Supreme Court Justices. They show signs of remaining conservative unlike some of the other Republican appointments, such as Suiter and Kennedy.

Good post OR...and I agree with SN over the Supreme's appointments..
I believe President Bush to be a very good President, thrust into a very difficult situation.....I love his statement that he is leaving office with the same moral values he had when he arrived.....

That's the problem, none of us knows... Do we?

Could be one or it could be all...

Surprised all you strong constitutionalist don't feel outraged that our privacy can be violated without probable cause and supported by Oath or affirmation.

I will miss his grace towards the people who were out to destroy him. I think he is personally one of the more respectable presidents we have had in my lifetime. I did not agree with most of his presidency, he was far too liberal for me, but I still would love to have had a beer with him. I find him a good role model for being in good shape, not just for his age, he made people report to his meetings on time, he is funny, and took our nation thru the most difficult time since Pearl Harbor.

The left forged documents, called him a failure before he took office, he was accused of stealing both elections, called a murderer, even by people on this board who claim to be highly educated. His presidency will be remembered for the immature antics of an ill-informed leftist media, unwilling to perform it's own job, more than it will be for any of Bush's mistakes.

Strange how you point this out, while ignoring the fact that Obama signed off on FISA, and will not end the Patriot ACT.

This is just more mediamatters talking points. The term "without probable cause" just destroyed your credibility on this issue.

I took the term probable cause from the constitution. We can't just approve the constitution when it suits us.

No one has been authorized to listen to phone calls without probable cause. It is a lefty fallacy.

According to the constitution, probable cause must be presented to a judge who then issues a warrant. According to the constitution, the judge is who decides if the probable cause is sufficient and not the guy who is doing the listening.

If you let the snoopers decide who has enough cause to be snooped then we are all eligible to be snooped, just ask um...

But what you are failing to acknowledge it that even after the fact in those rare cases those searches are then viewed by the judges. They have to verify that there was a need to rush the search and then that there was probable cause. So, your position is a misrepresentation of the facts.
