So, the compressed air is what drives the cylinders. Now, if we also installed a solar recharger for the air pump or storage tanks we would have it made.

During the 2nd World War most of the cars were laid up for the duration because gas was not available except for military use. We did, however, make use of methane gas for a number of things. So, a country can adjust if it so desires. For some weird reasons, methane became too expensive after the war........a main source for methane was waste from either humans or animals,,,,,,,right there under the manure piles on farms.

Thanks for that site, mate, Interesting, but will the oil companies allow it to really happen?

Cheers,

Jim

PS. I suggest they do a trial run on the motorcar race tracks where so much fuel is wasted for entertainment, not to mention pollution.

Sort of changes the meaning of a car 'passing gas'.

What energy source will we use to compress the gas?

Anyway Washington's been running on compressed hot air for years and its still going nowhere.

From the article

You will have saves of $10,000 on gas costs annually per car!

no need to refuel your car more than once a year, with a driving range of 20,000 miles.

They seem to indicate that you can save $0.50 per mile on fuel. It doesn't cost me that much to drive. Will they be sending me a check for the difference?

A quick Google search revealse quite a few compressed-air powered cars that are in the works and that have had stories on them in legitimate places like the NY Times, Popular Mechanics, etc. Still, I cannot fathom how an internal combustion engine of four strokes would work with air power. Of course, those engineering such cars are not showing how it is done. Got a feeling the old internal combustion engine has many happy days ahead before it is replaced.

Question

The concept seems to have merit. However I see one drawback;

Quote:
Job description, simple and quick process as follows:

* Replacing gas tank by a 300 bars 45 Gallon air tank
* Replacing gas system by A4Z air system
* Replacing exhaust pipe and A4Z Air pump
* Replacing carburetor by A4Z Air Distributor 1-8 cylinders
* Replacing the radiator by a powerful air compressor
* After conversion requires inspection once every three months
What is going to power the "powerful air compressor"?
