Gowdy names Capitol Hill veteran to Benghazi probe

House Benghazi committee chairman Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., tapped a veteran of Capitol Hill and the K Street lobbying world as majority staff director of the controversial panel, amid indications that opponents – both of the new staff director and of the committee’s mandate – are ramping up their efforts.

To lead the Republican majority staff, Gowdy selected Philip Kiko, a key aide to Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., when the latter served as chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, and more recently a registered lobbyist for the Smith-Free Group, a K Street lobbying firm with a diverse roster of clients.

House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, swiftly welcomed Gowdy’s choice, calling Kiko “a man of unquestioned integrity with a record of distinguished service” in and out of Congress. “His appointment today is further proof of Chairman Gowdy’s commitment to an investigation that is serious, fact-based, and professional,” Boehner said in a statement, adding: “There is no better person to help lead this effort than Phil.”

Feds spent $5 billion to get state Obamacare exchanges operational

Maryland, Massachusetts, Oregon and Nevada have gone through nearly a half billion dollars building inoperable Obamacare websites for vastly overpriced state exchanges. For government, though, nothing succeeds like failure, especially if it rewards selected partners in crime, so the feds will continue with little resistance to pour millions of dollars more down these rat holes.

Obama has put Kristie Canegallo in charge of making sure he follows through on his healthcare fiasco. See full write-up in WAPO.

    WAPO writes:

Unlike many of Obama’s top advisers, who came to their job through the political route, Canegallo started as a civilian Pentagon official on detail to the White House when Obama came into office in 2009. Trained as a credit derivatives analyst at Goldman Sachs & Co., she served as director in the National Security Council’s Defense Policy and Strategy Directorate for two years before becoming senior adviser to McDonough, who was the president’s deputy national security adviser at the time.

Not mentioned here is Canegallo’s post as Director for Defense Transformation, Force Planning and Requirements, Executive Office of the President, Defense Policy, Weapons of Mass Destruction and Arms Control-National Security Staff.

A WMD expert who did numbers at Goldman-Sachs.

    Appropriate.

This is on topic as the articles deal with examples of corporatism at work.

How the NSA & FBI made Facebook the perfect mass surveillance tool

The National Security Agency and the FBI teamed up in October 2010 to develop techniques for turning Facebook into a surveillance tool.

Documents released alongside security journalist Glenn Greenwald’s new book, “No Place To Hide,” reveal the NSA and FBI partnership, in which the two agencies developed techniques for exploiting Facebook chats, capturing private photos, collecting IP addresses, and gathering private profile data.

According to the slides below, the agencies’ goal for such collection was to capture “a very rich source of information on targets,” including “personal details, ‘pattern of life,’ connections to associates, [and] media.”

US Politicians Line Pockets With Funds From Ecuador's Billionaire Bankers on the Lam in US

"Money can't buy happiness" goes the saying. While this can be true to one extent or another, money can certainly buy protection from your enemies, as Ecuadorian billionaire brothers, Robert and William Isaias, have conveniently discovered. The Ecuadorian billionaire brothers were sentenced in 2003 in absentia to 8 years in prison on charges of embezzlement. They have since avoided punishment by lining the pockets of high-level American politicians to ensure their "safety" from Ecuadorian law.

HOLDER: AMERICANS OPPOSED TO OBAMA'S TRANSFORMATION OF US GUILTY OF 'QUIET PREJUDICE'

Attorney General Eric Holder, who has suggested that critics of the Obama administration are motivated by race and referred to America as a "nation of cowards" on race issues while blasting Americans who resist more gun control laws, suggested that those opposed to President Barack Obama's policy agenda of "fundamental transformation" are quietly prejudiced.

Still on topic. Riidle me this . . . what do you have when corporatists start demonizing their opposition and use the power of the state to silence them? See the answer at the end of this thread.

That's right Dick Cheney is a fascist. So is Obama and Hillary Clinton.

When are are you going to get it? Both parties are fascist.

Fascism is the merger of corporate and government power. Okay call it corporatism if it sounds less menacing to you but it's the same in the end. Rule by lawless thugs using the power of the state to silence any opposition. YOUR GUYS are becoming quite the experts at it with their "political correctness" and "race baiting" tactics.

Wake up already. The whole left vs the right thing is a scam.
