Save this foolishness. Just more hypocrisy of the GOP pretending like they care about the integrity of the voting processs while all the while conniving and conspiring to come up with James Crow esq. ways to keep folks from exercising their right to vote.

The GOP realized after the 2008 election they were simply outnumbered. And they took to trying to remove millions from the voting rolls to close the gap.

Right because we all know the Southern Strategy, still in effect, was just a bunch of made up talk. The US AG should be investigating every instance of the GOP attempting to use frivolously made up laws to suppress voting.

Yall must think everyone is stupid. Like the foolishness in Alabama of requiring voter id and then closing the DMVs in 30+ majority minority counties.

Well whoopty doo. Your county doesn't get to marginalize the beliefs of all the counties whose voters feel as though the Voter ID laws are racially discriminatory. Laws aren't racist. They are racially discriminatory. People are racists.

And the disparate impact to certain communities meets the legal definition of the law being racially discriminatory and ILLEGAL.

I'm having a wonderfully blessed day. You on the other hand sound like you're losing it.

 

It's not an issue in my neighborhood either.

As long as ID cards are free, birth certificates can be obtained easily at any county courthouse, and voter registration is simple (all true in Texas), I don't know how people can claim it is racist or it somehow suppresses the vote.

There is only a marginal amount of effort required to obtain identification suitable for voting - identification you need for just about every other part of life - so there are very few legitimate cases where ID laws are restrictive on their face. In those cases, there are always people happy to help.

 

Neither should illegals be getting DL's
